The way she looked at him, and after how she reacted when she blamed me for getting him shot, made it obvious that she had a thing for him. I dreaded her ever finding out that I'd been fucking him when she already hated me so much.
Maybe she was fucking him too, I really didn't know anything about his personal life. Hell, I didn't really even know anything about what went on with Ghost either, for that matter. His day to day life was a total mystery to me.
For instance, where had he been these past few days??? Was he still recovering? Was he back to work? Nobody ever told me anything, including him. Not that they really owed me an explanation, I guess.
I wasn't sure yet if the attraction was purely physical or it went further, but I needed to be careful. The intensity of it was unlike anything I'd ever felt and all of the unknowns scared me.
What I did know was that if I didn't see him again soon I was going to lose my mind. At least the dead body was gone, in my current mental state I may have crawled in there to talk to it.
By evening I found myself laid out on the couch, trying to read a book, but giving up after having to keep rereading the same paragraphs over and over to try to comprehend them.
I couldn't focus with him running through my mind. I was just thinking about getting myself off again, sliding my hand down my shorts, when I heard a light knock on the door.
I sighed, removing my hand. "Come in," I called out, annoyed, having left it unlocked. I assumed it was probably either Maya or Connor, and figured I'd better just get it over with. I heard it crack open.
"Y/N, can I speak with you for a moment?"
It was him. Finally. My heart skipped a beat at the sound of his voice, and I sat up quickly, turning to face him over the back of the couch.
He was wearing his normal suit, sleeves rolled up, gloves on, and no longer had on the sling even though I could tell his shoulder was still bothering him by the way he kept his right thumb hooked in his belt loop.
I couldn't help checking him out, running my eyes over his whole body. His suits were all tailored to perfection, and hugged his muscles so well.
"Uh, yeah, sure," I answered him, trying not to sound too eager.
"I...I just wanted to apologize...for hurting you. I don't know what got into me, I...don't...normally do things like that, and I shouldn't have taken advantage of you."
Yeah, Maya DEFINITELY gave him a piece of her mind.
"Is that what you think happened? You took advantage of me?" I said. His shame was apparent, eyes looking downward.
"Of course...I mean, I could've just left, but...but I didn't...I made the choice to do what I did, and it...it wasn't fair to you."
"Who said it wasn't my choice as well?" I was on my feet now, in front of the couch, starting to slowly walk around it towards him, stood just inside my door. I was drawn to him like a magnet.
His eyes darted back and forth from me to the floor, curious what I was doing, but too embarrassed to make eye contact.
"Do you regret it?" I asked, still moving forward.
"I mean...um, regret is probably the wrong word...I...um..."
"Would you do it again?" I asked, interrupting his nervous stuttering. I had on a thin cropped tank with no bra underneath, and my nipples were hard, having been aroused before he even opened the door. I caught him glancing at them before looking away quickly, his cheeks slightly flushed pink.
