BAM!
Pain jolts through Jason Dean's neck and back as he's slammed against a locker.
"Let me go!" He demands as he struggles for breath, clawing at the hand wrapped around his throat. "Let me go goddammit!"
"Make me, fag," Kurt spits. JD can feel the jock's hot breath on his face, and he struggles, closing his eyes with the effort.
"Argh!" he cries out as he begins to lose hope. In a desperate attempt to get free, he drives his booted leg up forcefully, kicking right between Kurt's legs. He can hear the breath escape Kurt's lungs as he drops JD, doubling over and falling in pain. JD barely has a second to catch his breath before Ram comes swinging at him, but he ducks the punch and kicks Ram to the ground. Not wasting a moment, he turns and runs out of the school and around to the back.
Pressing his back against the wall, JD sucks in as much breath as he can, panting with his hands on his knees. He feels his neck, even just touching it lightly sends pain shooting down the length of his throat.
"Dammit," he curses, knowing his dad will 'teach him how to stand up for himself.' Which is code for beating him senseless. He looks to the left and sees no one, but then turns to the right and jumps. Right next to him is a kid watching him with a strange expression. The kid's hair is blonde except for a red streak in the middle. He wears a blue tank top, showing off his muscular arms. His pants are camouflage cargo pants, and he's smoking a cigarette.
"You alright there?" The burly kid asks, raising his eyebrows.
"What a stupid question," JD responds. The kid bites the cigarette lightly to keep it in place as he lifts JD by the front of his shirt, which he can barely manage, given that he's much shorter than Jason. The kid seems to notice this and he backs off with a grunt.
"Kurt and Ram?" The kid asks with a smirk.
"Who else?" JD responds, sighing.
"Fair enough. I'm Rich, Rich Goranski. And I think I can help you with that." JD scoffs.
"How could you possibly help me?"
"This is going to sound really crazy..." the kid says with a sigh. "But I promise you, it's real...what you need, Jason Dean, is a SQUIP."
"How do you know my name?!" JD asks, startled. It was his first day at Westerberg high. Nobody was supposed to know him yet. But this kid did, and JD didn't like that at all.
"The SQUIP," Rich says, chuckling darkly. "It can tell you everything you need to know. It helps you to achieve whatever you want!
It's a gray oblong pill.
Quantum nanotechnology CPU.
The quantum computer in the pill will
Travel through your blood until
It implants in your brain
And it tells you what to do."
JD backs up, frightened. Whatever this SQUIP thing is, he wants no part of it. "I'm not putting a damn computer in my brain," he says sternly. With that, he turns and walks all the way around the school and back in through the front doors.
Rich chuckles darkly once again, but his voice doesn't sound like his own. "Yes you will. Whether you want to or not, you will get a SQUIP."
