The Monster
It's a gradual decline,
As you fall into what the monster shapes you as,
Instead of being who you are,
It start with suggestions,
Then insults,
Agressions possibly,
It'll say "just stop,"
It'll tell you to lose the imperfections,
They don't realize that instead of letting you eat,
The monster slips your food to the dog under the table,
Your friends will tell you that you need to eat,
Instead of listening you learn to cheat,
At some point it becomes habit,
You fall into a pattern,
More often than not it's feeding your dog,
You're ignoring the pang,
The need,
Overcome with shame,
With insecurity,
Instead of noticing your beauty,
You notice only what the monster views as your flaws,
You refuse to notice your needs,
Refuse to eat at the dinner table,
Instead feeding your dog.
