The Letter

*1 year after the battle of Hogwarts*

Harry's POV

Lately, I have been really out of it as it is coming up to the one-year anniversary of the battle of Hogwarts. The nightmares have eased a little but I still get woken up and Ginny is shaking but it has eased. Life has been...... normal no life-changing events but it has been good, me and ginny moved into Godric's hollow and I took up a part time post as defence against the dark arts professor and when I am not teaching I am co-head Auror with ron. I was getting ready to head to Hogwarts to teach as I teach Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays all the other DADA lessons are taught by Charlie Weasley.

"Honey, can you come down, you have an owl!" My girlfriend shouted from the kitchen.

I walked downstairs, gave a kiss to ginny as she passed me a letter. I looked at the writing and immediately knew who it was from.

Dear Harry,

I have some alarming but happy news so could you and miss Weasley come to my office. It would be great if you could inform Neville to come along as well. On arrival, I will ask you to give me your wands however I am aware that you have been learning wandless magic but please refrain from using it.

Headmaster at Hogwarts

My head couldn't process the fact that for one she called me harry and Neville, Neville she only does that when it is big news or she is feeling, how do I put it, emotional.

"What's it about?"Ginny asked,

"Minnie wants us to go to Hogwarts and to get Neville," I answered,

"You look worried," she questions,

"Well, it's not every day she calls me to harry and says we will have to give her our wands when we get there,"

"Oh.... ok I am sure it's fine,"she reassured me.

We took a quick detour as we had to get Neville so as we passed the portrait of Sir Cadogan and walked in. The time was 8 am on a Friday so everyone was in there including Hermione, Neville, Seamus and a few others that stayed behind after the war for me ginny and Ron it was just too much to do another year. I walked in and just as it happens I may actually be the head of Gryffindor, so as soon as I walked they all stopped talking and looked at me.

"Hi, guys can I have Neville please?"I asked

"Yes harry what for?" he questioned

"I don't know Minn..McGonigal wants us and she said when we get there she is going to take our wands,"

"Oh okay, I am coming now,"

We had just come up to the griffin and knocked on the door.

We opened the door

"Hello Minnie, "I said whilst giving her a hug,

"Hi min," ginny said whilst also giving her a hug,

"Minnie?"Neville asked,

"My parents used to call her that so now I do," I explained

"Okay so I need your wands and harry don't,"

We all handed her our wands but we were very confused. We hadn't had anything explained to us and we all thought we were going to be told off(yes Minnie still told harry off).
