Chapter 1

The night was dark, and silent as death, the moon was a bloodly color. My lungs felt as if they were about to burst in any minute. My feet were sore, and I just wanted it to stop. I wanted to stop running. I wanted to sit down and rest.

"No! Get up, we still need to keep going!" The woman screamed at me, while pulling my hand.

"No! I'm tired, I want to stop!" I pleaded with her. Then a man came over to me and picked me up. He held me tightly and took the woman's hand in his.

We didn't stop, until we came to a small barn. It frightened me a little, but then the man carried me inside. He hid me, and kissed my forehead. The woman followed behind, and with just one glance, she started to sob.

"No honey. Please. You’re just making it hard on yourself and us." He comforted her, as he hugged her tightly.

Then time went by so fast, after that I heard shouts and horrible screams. Then time slowed down, it was as if time was being consumed by darkness.

"Noooo!" I yelled, making me wake up from my lucid dream. I wiped the tears from my face, and began to look at the clock. 5:45 am

"What's wrong? Is everything ok?" Aunt Silvia asked walking into my room. She started to ask all this questions, but my mind wasn't even listening. Her blue eyes filled with worry, and concern. She stopped as soon as I lifted my hand, and shook my head.

"I'm alright, it was just a nightmare, must have been from that show I watched last night" I said while faking a smile. I really hated lying to her, but she already worries about me too much.

She just nodded, patted me on the hand, and was about to leave the room. She then turned around quickly, and laughed.

"I almost forgot, today is your first day of school as a senior." She smiled at me warmly. I immediately got out of bed and ran to the bathroom.

"What! Today is the first day of school! Why didn't you tell me earlier?" I hollered at her from the bathroom. Trying my best not to fall as I took my clothes off to jump into the shower.

I just heard her laugh loudly. Aunt Silvia can be so mean sometimes. No wonder she had took me shopping the last three weeks, I thought she was just being very nice. Guess I was wrong. I look at myself thinking I look decent, I had on a purple shirt with a black vest over it, black skinny jeans, and my black flats that had rhinestones going across them. My perfectly semi-curly, straight hair hung loosely with my light blue highlights shining brightly.

I finally come down stairs to a plate of yummy blueberry waffles. I guess this is Aunt Silvia's way of asking for forgiveness. After eating the delicious waffles, I write Aunt Silvia a note. I grabbed my book bag, which has been ready for the last few days, and my keys and headed out the door.

The ride to school isn't that far, I would usually stop at the gas station, and grab something to go. But today I went straight to school, I wanted to get a favorable spot in the senior section. I didn't want to keep parking in the opposite side of the school.

As luck may have it, I had to park on the other side of school. Man and I really thought luck was going my way. I walked around the school, until I got to where am supposed to be. I entered the cafeteria, looking for my friends.

"Hey girl, where have you been?" A girl with black hair with pink highlights, a red strapless shirt topped with a black jacket, blue torn jeans, and black converse greeted me. May was my best friend in the entire world (I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s true). She is kind of short, but has a good smoking body (no homo), hazel eyes, and is the nicest person ever.
