The first two or three chapters are going to be short. They are mostly there for backstory
Have you ever thought you'd be with someone forever? Perhaps your first love, when you were still young and naive. Hinata had thought the same thing about Kageyama, that they had true love, or maybe he had thought it was soulmates. He wasn't so sure about that anymore, because nothing bad had happened yet their spark was gone. They were supposed to be the high school sweethearts who stayed together, yet now it all has to end. The time, effort, and love he gave all goes down the drain. It has to be done. He has to break up with him, so he can live his dreams. After high school they were both offered a spot for a professional team, just it hadn't been the same team. When they had talked about it, the decision that neither of them would go was made. That decision is the biggest mistake Hinata had ever made.
Now, everyday thoughts run through his head of what could have been, what should have been. He knows what has to be done, but the thought of hurting Tobio terrifies him. Even if they weren't meant to be he stills cares so deeply about the boy with the bright blue eyes. They've also just grown so much, it's not like they are 15, or even 18 anymore when they had made that decision. He may finally be ready to find his new path, find what his destiny is.
The thoughts running through his head today are all over the place, just trying to figure out how to end his 7 year relationship. The decision had been made already, he will end it. "Maybe I could do it at dinner tonight," he said while talking to himself in the mirror. He wanted to do it in the way that would hurt Kageyama the least, just wasn't sure what that was. Idea after idea ran through the anxious boys mind. He had always had trouble keeping himself from feeling anxious, of course this time would be no different. It may be worse than it's ever been. Feelings he had never experienced before were coming left and right. Pain, or maybe it was heartbreak. It was all quite overwhelming to him.
After what felt like days of thinking, he had finally came up with a plan to make this easy the both of them. The break up itself was going to be short and simple, but he had wanted to leave a letter to let him know everything that had been going on is his head the past few months. The letter ended up being 2 pages long, by the time he finished writing, the paper had quite a few tear marks. He knew he would have to get a place to stay for the night so he packed a suitcase and booked a hotel. Right when he had finished he had heard the door to their apartment opening.
This is when everything starts to change. He had asked kageyama to talk to him, so they go sit down. With tears in his eyes their eyes lock. Hinata says "I'm sorry, but it's time for me to follow my dreams, which means I have to let go of you. My best friend. I will always hold a place in my heart for you, but our time together is over." You could hear the sorrow in his voice, and the look on Kageyama face shattered his heart into a million pieces. "This is hard for me to actually say, so I wrote this to explain everything, I understand if you don't read it. I hope you do though," he said as he got up to walk away. He felt a hand grab his, but he shook it off as Kageyama started to speak. He didn't say anything after his hand left Hinatas though.
This is where his new life begins he though as he walked away crying. He spent the next week in a hotel, trying to figure out his next step. That's when he decided he should get back into volleyball, the one thing that he's meant for. He contacted teams that had once reached out to him, to find one that would take him. He had quite a few offers, but he wasn't really sure which one to take. He checked all the teams players to see if any of the people he used to play with were on them. He saw a few of his old competitors, but ended up choosing a team for a different reason. Though it had a two friendly faces. His first practice is in three days, so he spent the next three days working on all his old skills.
