Shadow the Hedgehog was feeling lugubrious as he sat in the fog of his depression.
'This was meant to be his paradise!' He angrily thought. "Sonic!" he longingly screamed into the fog. Knowing wholeheartedly that his soul wrending screeches would never be heard. A single tear escaped. And as his eyes closed he saw a pair of red shoes emerge from the thick woods.
Sonic the Hedgehog (from Sonic the Hedgehog: the Movie) was in hedgehog paradise now. The menagerie of anthropomorphic animals he had called his lifelong companions in life (he was now dead) had gathered in the Sonic the Hedgehog Graveyard to pay their respects to their fallen compatriot (who was Sonic the Hedgehog). A lugubrious atmosphere hung over the gathering, compounded by the thick fog surrounding the procession. Tails (the Fox) (from Sonic the Hedgehog: the Movie: 2) broke the silence, his words shaky and hesitant in the aftermath of his closest friend's departure from this mortal coil: "it's a terrible day for rain".
And as Sonic emerged from the great dark wood, Shadow realized that he had been dead this entire time; and as the tears continued to pour down his fuzzy black fur, Shadow sobbed in pain and joy. But the beauty of the situation was lost on neither of the two magical, anthropomorphic hedgehogs. These two lovers finally had their wish. As together in death as they were in life, oblivious to their living families plight. And as this story comes to a close, finally the two hedgehogs embraced each other in a loving kiss.
