They were hitting hard, the raindrops.
I couldn't see. Bright lights shined in my face as they cruised on by.
I could feel the uneasiness. The fear in me.
It was coming and no matter what happened, none of these thoughts would matter.
Everything came to a halt. I no longer felt that fear. No longer felt perturbed.
It was all only a dream, a bizarre dream.
Today was the day. I grabbed my supplies and left the messy apartment, which I currently resided in.
Street signs directed me to my destination while people, pretending to talk on their cellphones, distracted me. I wasn't necessarily in the mood to see her. Quite frankly, I despised these rare, yet frequent visits. Everytime she demanded we meet, it was just the same routine.
"Good Morning, Mom."
"Good morning, darling! Are you doing anything constructive, yet?"
"Just living my life, but I'm sure you wouldn't consider that constructive at all." She was always one to criticize even when I did do something acknowledgeable.
"Do you know how long I've been waiting for you to get here? Typical. You're always running late. You were never the persistent type." She scolded. Actually, she asked me to be her at 9:00. It was currently 8:30.
"I'm sorry. Well, what did you wanna talk about?"
