Hey, just finished an essay, so I decided I'd write. Of course, I still have four projects due soon, but oh well. What can I say, I'm a huge procrastinator.... :D I also have some math homework... oh well. not due till friday. I'll do it tomorrow.

Actually, before I go, I'd like to note that this is NOT a werewolf love story thing. None of the characters are werewolves. :)

Oh, and I changed my mind. Chad actually looks like him>

(I put a pic of him :D)

~Chas' POV~

I groaned and sat up, then opened my eyes. I was immediately blinded, so I shaded my eyes with one of my hands. I blinked a few times and felt my pupils shrink back to normal. What had I dreamed about that would make them expand like that? I couldn't remember. I ran my hand through my hair, sighing. Another day of work. Fun. Not.

Well, I reasoned to myself as I walked through the woods, my coat slung over my shoulder, at least today we know that that kid isn't coming back. Suddenly, I froze. There. Another shuffle. I sniffed the air, then relaxed and kept walking.

"Jeez, Chas, you're so on edge." Came Haari's voice from the trees. I heard a slight woosh, then he was standing next to me, grinning. I rolled my eyes.

"You know I have to be." I sighed. Haari scratched his head squinting up at the canopy.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. But still, try not to stress too much about it. We'll figure it out in time." I sighed again and continued walking.

"Where's Ross?"

"Went on a run with Willow. He said he'd be there in time for opening."

"Is she close?"

"Close? Are you kidding? You know she won't be close until her seventeenth birthday." I was confused for a second, then understood.

"Oh, right. It's different for my... lineage. We change at around fourteen." Haari grinned.

"I know. You've told us. You changed at thirteen, though."

"Yup. Haha, they were all so surprised, and brother was so jealous. Even though he was older, he hadn't changed yet. Everyone was praising me and everything. Ah, he was so mad." I chuckled. Haari turned grim.

"If only things were so simple and innocent now. Your brother changed so much. How, though? How did he go from what he was, to what he is now?" I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair.

"I don't know, Haari. I just don't know." We were silent for a few seconds, the only sounds around us being the rustle of the leaves in the trees and our footsteps on the path. Just then, Haari's face took on the ghost of a grin.

"Why don't we ask him, next time we see him." I snorted at the absurdity.

"Yeah, right. Just before we get our heads chopped off. Maybe he'll be nice and serve us up all fancy." Haari wrinkled up his nose in disgust.

"I can't really say that sounds appetizing..."

"Nope, neither can I. Just, if we are ever invited to visit, I'm going to ask just exactly what we are being served."

"Haha, yeah. I can just imagine it. 'Here is the main course, sir. Broiled heads on a bed of cabbage, with a delicious garnish of pickled eyeballs.' Yeah, sounds lovely, thanks, but I think I'll pass." We both laughed at that.
