Being a vampire in the mortal world is hard. You have to hide your secrets from everyone. Including the people you love that are mortal. But, belonging to a 126 year old vampire, is an even bigger struggle. Because you can'...
Well. Here I am. Dating again. After what happened last time, I said I would never date again. But here I am, sitting in front of a good looking man.
Let's get you all caught up. Hi, my name is Alexis King. I'm 23 years old, and I like drawing and singing. Among others, my voice is that of an Angel. "It sounds like angels are singing when you sing." I've been told that all throughout the years. I graduated high school when I was 18, and got a high paying job after that summer.
When I was 19, I found my ex-boyfriend. At the time, I thought that he was the love of my life. The first year was perfect. We only had one fight or two, and we got passed it. That was until the beginning of the second year. He got laid off from his job and fell into depression. He began to drink because he couldn't find a job. Then, he got abusive.
When he would drink, he got angry. He would hit me, scream hurtful shit at me, and make me feel like I was nothing. So I got tired of it, and I left. I got away from him after three years. I put up with his bullshit for long enough. Two years, two long ass painful years that I put up with him. I don't know if he is still alive. I don't care to know. If he isn't, well, that serves him right.
Now, onto this man sitting in front of me. How did I meet him? Well, I'll tell you how. This happened 6 months ago.
It was a dark and stormy night, that's how every horror movie starts off, I know. But it's true. There was a storm on a dark summer night. I worked two miles from where I lived, I could easily run there every day. I can run up to 4 miles easily, I'm into keeping fit, you'll see why later. But back to this mystery man. I got at least half of a mile away from where I worked. And I was stopped by this creepy guy, he looked as if he hadn't slept in a year. And his clothes, I honestly felt bad for him. Another homeless meth addict, it breaks my heart.
But this man stopped me asking what I was doing out alone at night, then he proceeded to cat call me when I walked away. He didn't take that for his answer, so he proceeded to attack me and try to force certain things. I managed to get him off of me and try to make a break for it, but that was after he stabbed me in the leg. Yes, he stabbed me in the leg, but that was after I punched him in the nose a few times.
Then this mystery man sitting in front of me, ran up and swooped me off of my feet. Literally. By time that I was in his car, I was loosing consciousness and I was bleeding out. He hit my femoral artery. I woke up in the hospital, I was cold and in pain. When I looked around all I saw was this man in front of me. He was scrolling through his phone and paying no mind to the coldness of the room.
"Wh-what happened?" I asked softly.
"You were attacked." He put his phone away..
"By who? Who are you?"
"I am Damian Monroe. You were attacked by a meth addict. I happened to be driving past when he attacked you. You put up a good fight." He began, "Ma'am, you were stabbed in the leg after punched him in the nose about four times. He laid on the sidewalk as you ran off. I am surprised you got that far."
"Oh. He hit my femoral artery, didn't he?"
"He did, how did you know?"
"I went to nursing school after I graduated. But, I could never get a job that I wanted."
"Ma'am?" He asked.
"Please, Alexis. My name is Alexis King." I held out my hand. He shook my hand and we kept talking.
"Well, Alexis, beautiful name by the way. Do you have anyone that should be contacted?"
I looked down. "No." I said softly. My parents had been killed in a car crash.
"Please look at me." He said softly picking up my chin.
"Mr. Monroe, why did you bring me here? Why waste your time?" I asked. I noticed his extremely expensive suit, ruined from the rain. And not to mention his body gaurd by the door.
"Just Damian. I brought you here because I had to. I would have felt guilty if I just went past as you bled out. And if you're wondering. The man who attacked you was arrested." He removed his hand from my chin.
"Well Damian. Thank you."
We sat in silence for a few minutes. I was fading in and out of consciousness. I had fallen asleep as the doctor walked in. I was asleep but could still hear what they were saying.
"Well Mr. Monroe, we don't need to keep her over night. But I doubt that after a night like this, she won't want to be alone." The doctor began. He was right. I didn't want to be alone. "Does she have any family?"
"She don't. I can take her to my house. She will be safe and not alone. I'll take her home when she is ready to go."
"Okay. She will need to come in four weeks to get her stitches removed."
After that, I was out. I didn't hear the rest of the conversation, or remember leaving. But all I know, is I woke up in a big fluffy bed with animal hides as a base cover. What I mean is like sheets, but they're not sheets.

(Kinda like this.)
The furs were so soft. I didn't want to move. The room was dimly lit with candles, the dark curtains blocking the sun out.
