Pain.
Was that all it took?
Was that all it took to break a bond as strong as they had, although so new?
The promise they made… it hurt… it hurt because he couldn't get what he wanted so badly. What he wanted more than anything…. Her.
Before, he had always seen her hang around with a smile on her face. But it was never genuine, and he knew that. She was pretty, he would admit, though she was a little flat.
He never tried to talk to her, he regretted it later on. Maybe if he’d known her for a little longer, she might have had more, stronger, feeling for him. More than just friendship.. Maybe she would even love him.
When he saw her at the hospital, he was confused. Why was she there, no, why were all of them there. Then he learned about the Kizna, they were all connected? How did it make any sense?
Looking back on it, he wishes it never happened, but at the same time, he was glad he got to know her. To love her, even if the love was one-sided. After that summer, they didn’t speak to each other again. Everything going back to how it was before the Kizna system. Before they got to know each other.
Well… not everything..
She never had that smile on her face, but what made everything worse was when she left.
Chidori… the one person he wished he could call HIS… just.. Left.
Tenga couldn't believe it… this all happened because of these two people. He never forgave Katsuhira or Noriko, not for the 4 long years he thought about it.
Two months after he turned twenty, currently november. He was christmas shopping for his family and, other than Katsuhira and Noriko, his friends from the Kizna project. He and Nico had tried dating, but she saw that he wasn’t over Chidori, so she ended it. This was two years ago, and he's still not over her. Every year, he bought a christmas present for her, he just kept it in a box at the top of his closet. He knew she would never get it, but he still hoped that one day she would come back.
It was cold, as time passed he had grown out of his old flashy style and was now wearing black jeans and dark red shirt with a long dark blue coat with white fur on the hems, trading the neon green glasses with dark gray, almost black. He was about to walk out the mall, but he stopped in his tracks the second he saw it. He couldn’t believe it, standing in the doorway was her. The person he longed to see for four long years. She looked a little different, longer hair that was now waved to her lower back. Light blue jeans and a large light pink sweater. Her eyes met his and dropped everything in his hands. Running over, he gave her a bone crushing hug. She was back…
The one person he would never forget.
Chidori was back.. And he was so happy that he thought it was a dream.
