Drunk

"Hey," I said to my co-worker Max as I walked into my night shift at the Sunset Bar. "Hey Oli" he replied with a big smile plastered on his face.
I have been working at the Sunset Bar since I was a freshman in college. It started out as a part time job for some extra money but, after I graduated it became a full time job. Until I find a photography job.
It was a slow night of just our usuals coming in. Normally we have Joe. He is a 45 year old who is recently divorced, and isn't taking it very well. He normally comes in around 9:00p.m after a long day at work he normally just orders straight whiskey all night until he gets drunk and leaves either around midnight or 1:00a.m.
Then there is Nancy. She is a 37 with three kids. She has a very stressful day. Usually filled with getting the kids to school, going to work, picking the kids up, dropping them off at soccer practice, then coming here. She usually gets vodka martinis until she has to go pick up the kids(she is a Karen but really fun when she is drunk)
We normally don't get more than Joe and Nancy on weekdays, but on the weekends there are lots of people/celebs that come in with a whole dinner party.
It's normal if people like Taylor Swift or Lizzo will walk into the bar. We get a lot of famous people coming in all the time.
Now that Nancy and How are gone it's just me and Max like normal. Me and Max have known each other since our freshman year of college. How we met is actually kinda funny.
We met late at night after a dorm party. I walked out of my dorm after the party and I saw Max passed out on the ground butt naked. I woke him up and handed him my robe to cover himself up, and ever since then he has been my guy best friend.
Soon after I introduced him and Iley(my best friend). They hit it off and about a year later that started dating. Three years later and they're engaged! I couldn't be happier for them. I honestly can't wait for the wedding. I'm the maid of honor. Shocking isn't it(note the sarcasm). It is now June and they are getting married in December.
It was now 3:00a.m. me and Max were playing cards and talking." Three more hours until our shift ends." I said "Yay!!!" He replied tiredly. " I can't wait and crawl into bed with my beautiful fiance." He said happily. "Hey watch it, that's my best friend you're talking about" I said jokingly." I miss having y'all around." I said,"We miss you too but we couldn't live together forever."he said.
" I know but it gets lonely with just me and Lola."(my dog)I replied. "Oh yea, well then maybe you should go out and get yourself a boyfriend." He said. "I don't know, most of the guys I try to have a relationship with turn out to be douches." I said."Well then, maybe I should set you up with someone." He said.
"Haha nice try." I replied. "Oh yea, well how about we make a deal." He said. I was intrigued "okay what is it?" I asked water for his response. "Okay so if I find a guy who isn't a douche then I get to set y'all up and you can't say no." He said. "Okay, deal!" I said shaking his hand.
