Day 2
The Bittersweet Truth.
Today, this girl learned that she really does need you. Preparing for you to leave she thought she could live without you for a short time, but the truth is without you it's really killing her inside. Dying as the time passes, and living a little more once again. Because it's not like you're gone forever, and with all the time that passes the closer you are to coming home. Yet in her head she can't see it that way.
Why? Why'd you have to go about what you love doing this way?
Goddess, she loves you. So dang much it's a physical pain not to be able to know how you're doing. It's been a day. An entire day and she's doesn't want to keep going. It's only going to get harder; she's willing to feel that pain for you.
Baby Boy, she really just needs to know that you're okay and that everything is going good for you over there. Not knowing is somehow killing her infinitely more inside.
She knows you'd ask her about her day today and she'd love for you to know that Chris sat her down for a heart-to-heart at lunch. And she learned some interesting things, like the fact that his ex-girlfriend cheated on her Marine boyfriend with him. He offered that to her....Along with anything she wanted from him. But after the fears you let her in on, she could never do that to you.
Let's just say, today was a hell of a lot harder than yesterday. And she loves you all the more. You've captured her heart in every way and she feels a tug from that golden thread of love and lust.
You promised her one of the most important things that she can't get out of her head. You promised her that you'd come home to her, safe. She needs that promise to be kept by you, like she's keeping hers.
The Bittersweet Truth.
