Theo grinned cheekily, tilting his head down to peck my forehead as he shuffled to get more comfortable. His thumb gently rubbed back and forth along my bare shoulder, "Only a few more months, princess. After that, you're mine forever."

I giggled into his chest, tracing random shapes on his skin, "Alora Nott. I like the sound of that."

His chest vibrated as he chuckled lowly, "I do, too."

The soft beating of Theo's heart beneath my ear contrasted the loud bustling of New York City outside our hotel window. The occasional ambulance or police car would drive by, followed by rounds of cars honking and people shouting.

"You know..." I started. "Sometimes I think about what would've happened if my father hadn't forced me to intern at the Ministry that summer."

"Yeah?" Theo hummed, glancing down at me as he stroked his hand through my hair.

I nodded, "After we graduated Hogwarts, I wanted to spend a year traveling the world with Padma... figuring my life out, you know? I was fucking pissed when he told me he got me an internship at the Ministry."

"But then you met me," he laughed.

"Well," I sat up, turning around so that I could get a better look at him. "I met you when we went to Hogwarts together. You were just an asshole back then."

"Uh, correction. A really hot asshole," Theo raised his eyebrows teasingly.

"Keep telling yourself that," I rolled my eyes. "To be honest, you were still kind of a dick when we interned at the Ministry together–"

"But now..." he beamed, grabbing me by the waist and tickling me as he pulled me into his chest. "I'm your incredible fiancé who's going to spend the rest of our lives reminding you of that time you accidentally locked yourself in the Department of Mysteries."

I threw my head back in laughter both due to his tickling and his remark. My hands clutched around his, stopping his movements. "There were a lot of doors, okay! It was confusing," I pouted.

"Hmm," he sighed. "And those soft lips of yours. God, I could just kiss them forever."

He brought his finger up to my chin, tilting my face up as he came down for a lingering kiss.

I pulled away, grazing my lips against his, "I can't wait to spend the holidays with you."

He smiled, "I can't wait to spend the holidays with you either."

"We can decorate my family's Christmas tree, bake sugar cookies, set off fireworks on New Year's together..."

Theo grinned as he watched how giddy I was getting, daydreaming about our upcoming vacation like a twelve year old kid, "Of course, darling. We can do anything you want."

"Are you sure you can't get out of the rest of these meetings in New York?" I pleaded, giving him my puppy dog eyes. "I don't want to be alone on Christmas Eve."

"You're not gonna be alone," he reassured me. "Remember our plan? You'll apparate back to the UK and spend the next few days with your parents and Padma. I'll be there before you know it, and you'll have my full attention for the rest of winter break."

I gazed up at him, "Okay. I just wish work wasn't so busy for you–"

"Hey, you could've gone to these meetings with me if you hadn't quit your job at the Ministry."

I scoffed, "Not my fault everyone who works there is an outright prat. Fuckin' Umbridge mistook me for her assistant everyday and kept pestering me for a small cup of tea with a dash of milk and four packs of sugar. Who the fuck puts four packs of sugar in their tea?"

"Alright, alright," Theo tittered, calming me down as he glided his hand along the small of my back. "Umbridge is the absolute worst, but everyone else isn't so bad."

I lifted my head off of his chest and looked up at him skeptically. He pursed his lips before eventually caving in, "Fine, you're right. Everyone's fucking awful... But the job pays good money–"

"Do you really want to be stuck working at a job that doesn't make you happy?" I huffed.

He shrugged his shoulders, "I don't need to be happy at work if you already make me the happiest man in the world at home."

I blushed, rolling my eyes to play it off, "You always know what to say, don't you, Nott?" I propped myself up and pulled at the duvet so that I could sneak in underneath the covers.

"It's easy when it comes to you, Lin," he sighed, joining me beneath the covers. He wrapped his arms securely around my waist, pulling me into his warm chest as we spooned. His lips grazed my bare shoulder, and he planted a kiss, "It's always easy."
