The silence that fell over Mondstadt seemed almost unsettling. Relief laying down and covering each area like a soft sheet. Though the knights of favonious seemed skeptical of their victory, Diluc found himself outside Mondstadt in a more relaxed state and let himself take a break. A few deep breaths will do the trick, right?

Though, Diluc's breath hitched slightly, as if being interrupted mid breath. His eyes shifted to the bridge, then straight ahead of it. The cold wind seemed like it was prickling his pale skin as he felt his stomach sink. Surely he didn't miss being out there, he has other business to attend to. His legs seemed to have disagreements with his thoughts, now just frozen in place as he stared beyond the bridge. Maybe he'd visit the spot one more time, not like HE'd be there anyways. He shook his head as if trying to snap out of it, he forced himself to start walking straight ahead. What is he so worried about? Surely it will be empty.

Well, to his surprise when he had reached the old abandoned home on the hill, he could see the distant outline of a certain fatui harbinger. Diluc seemed to unconsciously grit his teeth,, of course. Though his anger didn't have the chance to even build up as he heard the harbinger shout.

"HEY- Diluc! Come here!"

Diluc blinked, quite taken aback by the sudden invite. Maybe it was some sort of trap.. but maybe that was too obvious. The red haired man begrudgingly made his way over to the harbinger, now able to fully see the other man. Childe wore a smile that seemed to be glued to his face.. did he ever really seem bothered? His ginger hair seemed more messy than usual, in fact, almost as if he was attacked by something. Not that Diluc would question it, it doesn't really matter if he doesn't care.

"Come sit." Childe spoke almost playfully as he patted a spot on the collapsed roof of the worn down house. Diluc stared at Childe for a moment, the other man returning his gaze. Childe's blue eyes seemed to beam with excitement and amusement. Diluc wondered what he was plotting.

"What are you doing here?" Diluc finally spoke, staring down at the fatui. Childe only smiled as a response.

"Well?"

"Just enjoying the view is all, no need to interrogate me." Childe chuckled almost nervously as he patted the spot next to him once again. And to his surprise, Diluc slowly sat down next to him and stared ahead at the plains. The two sat there in silence for a moment, but Diluc caught himself taking a few glances at the other man next to him. Childe's eyes were glued to the scenery below and his smile had faded, but not completely. His messy hair flowing in a few uneven strands due to the soft wind flowing through, Diluc forced himself to look away.

"It's nice out here, isnt it?"

"....why are you still here?"

"I was here fir--" Childe replied playfully, but his sentence was cut short as he felt Diluc's glove and then a growing burn on his cheek. His smile only grew again as a reaction, leaving the other male to raise a brow.

"...Was the slap necessary?"

"It wasn't, but I feel a bit better now."

Childe scoffed slightly at Diluc's response before moving himself to face the other. Diluc stared at Childe  with curiosity for a minute before doing the same, though the two avoided eye contact for a few solid seconds.

"You slap pretty hard. I wonder how hard you punch."

"..what-"

"Punch me."

"Pardon..?"

"Come on just one punch, I'm curious."

Well, not like Diluc would really pass up an opportunity to deck a fatui, all he needed was the reassurance before he pulled his fist back. Though when he actually tried to punch, his arm was grabbed by Childe and yanked forward.

"Too slow." Childe grinned, his face a few inches apart from the other. Diluc blinked a few times, feeling his cheeks grow a burning sensation. Was he blushing?- of course not.. he wouldn't like Childe right?

Childe let go of Diluc's arm after a few seconds since the other seemed to not be able to pull away. And Diluc rubbed his arm where he was firmly grabbed.

"You shouldn't let your guard down you know" Childe chuckled out those words as he rubbed his cheek. Diluc felt anger build up inside of him once more. Well, two can play that game..

"Well..-" Diluc shoved Childe down, the other falling onto his back. He swiftly got on top of the other, summoning his sword and stabbing it into Childe's shirt, practically pinning him to the broken roof.

"You shouldn't either."

Diluc blinked for a moment, seeing Childe's expression. His smile had completely disappeared, his lips parted slightly and his eyes widened with fear..no.. not fear of Diluc.. fear of something else. His messy hair was now even more visibly ruffled as his cheeks were delicately prickled with a slight pink tint.

"I-" Diluc moved himself away slightly but felt two hands grab his coat. He immediately looked down at the other, who was still dazed from the sudden action.

"What are you doing--" Diluc felt the heat in his cheeks grow worse as it expanded across his face. He was suddenly yanked down by Childe, causing him to pull away just a little. Their face now a few inches apart once more, but this time neither of them moved away. Diluc felt his stomach sink again, but this time it was for a different reason.. how could he possibly kiss or even like Childe? Yet, despite his better judgement he leaned closer and pressed his lips against the others. Diluc could feel Childe's hand slowly make its way to his hair, where it lightly brushed through a few strands. He shouldn't be doing this.. he's part of the fatui.. but he couldn't stop himself from pulling Childe closer. Though, Childe soon pulled away, leaving Diluc confused.
