That night the screams of the wounded kept sage from sleeping. Finally, having enough he stormed out into the night to try to get some peace and quiet after the day he had he heeded it. Finding a small stream he began washing the blood and grime from his face and hands. He couldnt help notice the blood of the drakians was no different than that of a mans. He wondered what else they might have in common with aliens. Around the bend upstream  he heard splashing in the water. He immediately went into defensive mode and pulled his rifle up. After a minute he realized whatever causing the splashing wasn't coming toward him, instead sounded stationary. Stealthily, he slowly made his way around the stream to a look at what was making the noises. He then noticed a lone drakian washing himself in the stream as he had done. He continued to watch the alien while it cleaned itself hoping to gain some knowledge of the being. Minutes had gone by, and the alien had sat back after washing for a nap. Seeing it as an opportunity to get in close, though not entirely sure what he would do when he got there but his curiosity got the best of him. He made his way down to the stream where he could step across without making noise, then over to where the creature lay asleep. He crept up put his hand on its mouth and his gun to its forehead and whispered "shhhh" the drakians eyes snapped open but to his surprise did not make a move. Apparently the alien had intellect to recognize to resist would result in his death. " don't move or ill shoot you, do you understand?" the drakian just stared back unflinching. His eyes looked indifferent as if he cared not for if he lived or died. Just then sage noticed the many scars on the drakians face and knew this drakian had been in alot of battles ffrom the look of it. That would explain his lack of fear if death. He then slowly pulled the gun away from the drakians face and the drakian continued to stare at him. He asked the drakian if he was alone. This time the drakian nodded. "So you do understand me? How is that possible?" "I'v been here for years fighting your kind, I have made it a point to speak your language." replied the drakian. "We've been attempting peace negotiations for months now, but your people refuse to speak.
