The War

Prologue

The knight climbed off his horse and looked at the black creature. He was ready to rid of it and had his sword at the ready, but the way it looked at him... It seemed intelligent...
The creature's fur was as black as the night sky and its eyes seemed to radiant a faint red glow. It looked evil... But at the same time it seemed like a child.
"You! Back away from Elizabeth!" A voice suddenly shouted.
Sir John looked up to see a girl in a very bright blue shirt with a strange hat running towards him. In her hand she held tightly a red and white ball.  The girl stopped once she got about eight feet away from John. Her eyes looked angry and she seemed like she was on the verge of attacking him. 
"Is this... Your dog?" John asked, gesturing to the black animal. 
"She's not a dog! She's an eevee. And no, she is not mine." The girl put her hands on her hips.
"Back off from my pokemon." 
"Next time keep your hound out of Sensus. It was causing an uproar." John replies. 
"Elizabeth, did you learn Uproar?" The girl turned to the black creature. Elizabeth shook her head. 
"I don't think eevees can learn uproar. In anycase, she's clearly not wild. So why were you about to battle her?" The girl looks back at the knight. 
"She was destroying people's property. I was told to kill it to prevent any more-" 
"You were going to kill my pokemon?!"
"I can let you take it back. But you must replace all that it destroyed. Put that.... Pokemon on a leash." John says. The girl glares at him for a moment. 
"How 'bout this. I challenge you to a battle. If I win, than you let me off the hook for free. I lose and I'll replace everything and stuff." The girl was looking at her nails as if the conversation bored her. 
"It is improper to fight a lady." John replies. 
"Whatdya mean it's improper? I've fought and won almost every battle. Most of 'em were men like you. I even beat the Elite four and their champion." The girl says. 
"Look, girl, I don't want to hurt you. Where are your parents?" 
"My name isn't 'Girl' it is Cyan. And my parents' location is none of your business." Cyan says. 
"I challenge you to a fight." Cyan adds. 
"First one knocked out loses." She digs in a bag for a moment, then pulls out a ball. 
"Go! Ashes!" A white flash came from the ball, then a foxlike animal jumped from it. It looked like a mountain wolf.
"This is my main. Ashes is the best Flareon you're ever gonna meet." Cyan put her hands on her hips.
"Feel scared yet?" 
"Are you not going to draw a sword?" 
"What for?" The girl asks. Though he was wearing a helmet and knew that she could not see it, John raised an eyebrow
"Aren't you going to fight my pokemon?" Cyan asks. 
"Fight your dogs? What for?" 
"It's a battle! Fine. I'll go first. Ashes! Use flamethrower!" The flareon leapt back and spewed out a steady stream of fire at John's horse. The horse ran away, leaving John alone with the girl. 
"My horse!" John turned to Cyan.
"What in the name of Sensus is that?!" He looked at Ashes. 
"It's just a flareon." Cyan says. 
John drew his sword once more and swung at the animal. The swing caught the animal by surprise and the sword cut across its foreleg. Ashes yelped out in pain and jumped back. 
Cyan ran forward and kneeled by the injured pokemon. 
"What did you do?! Ashes! Are you okay?!" She frantically dug through her bag until she found a small bottle. Cyan sprayed the area that John's sword had cut. 
"It's gonna be okay, Ashes." Cyan turned to John. 
"You're gonna pay for that." She growled.
Cyan took another ball and threw it. A blue animal jumped out.
"Elizabeth, I need help! Can you teleport Ashes?" The black pokemon looked over and nodded. 
The blue creature awaited a command.  "Ocean, attack him! Keep him busy!" Cyan said.
The blue creature growled, stalking towards John. John swung at the blue creature. It jumped at him with its teeth snapping.  John threw the animal off of him and kicked it. The animal circled, then suddenly shot a steady spray of water that sizzled when it hit the grass. 
The puddles let out steam. Boiling water.
Cyan grabbed another ball and threw it towards John.
As it was in the air, suddenly a ball of fire hit it.  The ball fell and opened with a white flash and a yellow creature jumped out.
John turned to see three hooded figures. Each of them had a necklace with a large pendant. The one in front had a reddish orange stone and its hands glowed like the embers in a fire. The figure lifted its hood to reveal a girl around Cyan's age. About thirteen or fourteen. The other two lifted theirs to reveal two boys around the same age. 
"So, Crimson. I think we found the troublemaker." The girl in front said. 
"Felix agrees." The boy to her left says. His eyes almost glow a slight blue and his hair is a very light blonde.  "We may of mistaken them. That's what Delilah thinks. I agree with her." The boy to her right says.
A yellow fox trots up behind him.
The girl in front holds out a stone and a cat jumps out.
At first it's flaming. Then its fire cools down.
A transparent blue wolf walks out from behind the boy on the girl's left. 
"Cyan, was it?" The girl asks. Cyan looks bemused.
"What is happening?" She asks. 
"What kind of pokemon are those?"
"Allow me to explain." A voice says with a pur. John whips around to see an animal twice the size of a lion stepping out from a tree. It lands gently. 
"I am rather bored with my world. Queen is always out fighting and doesn't have any time for me. So I need a way to entertain myself and this is just funny." 
"I Don't understand." Cyan says.
"It's like a game. Cyan, your pokemon is dying. You have zero pokemon centers. There is no way to fix this... Except for one thing. If I'm happy, I'll aid you. So make me happy."
"Who are you?" John asks. The creature lets out a dry laugh.  She steps into the moonlight to reveal dark plum purple fur. Her underbelly is a pale pink and her eyes are a mix of blood red and blue.
A giant... Cat?
"ou can cally me Maddy. I see the way you're looking at me. You've never seen a pom pom cat. And I hate your tone. You're ruining all my fun. And so are you three elementals." The three kids with their animals exchanged looks. 
"How do you know what we are?"  The girl in front asks.
"I do my research. Now I know that your kind ruins the fun! So naturally you go... Bye bye! " Suddenly a strange circle of black and violet purple appeared. It was spinning around the edges.
To John, it looked as if the circle went on forever into shadow and darkness. 
"See ya! I hope you enjoyed playing! Now, Moonbeam!" Maddy shouted.
The tamers were suddenly shoved forward. They turned to see a humanoid wolf. Its eyes were cold and it moved swiftly.  The wolf grabbed two tamers by their hoods and the last by with its muzzle.
The wolf threw them and the circle seemed to suck them in. The three kids let out terrible screams as they were sucked in. 
Maddy looked amused. Cyan seemed horrified.  The giant cat turned to John.
"You too are ruining my fun." The cat jumped forwards, landing only inches from John.
John swings his sword at the cat, who catches it and chucks it at the portal.
She paws John and flings towards the portal as well.
Suddenly all that surrounded him was darkness... And then there was nothing.

Maddy casually licked her paws. 
"I'm growing bored. Moonbeam, round up the city." 
"Yes, master." The humanoid wolf replied in a cold voice. She stood and left.
Cyan remain still as she watched in horror. She was kneeled by Ashes.
"Oh, I nearly forgot about you. If you can serve me, I can heal your pokemon." Maddy says. 
"Potions won't stop serpent poison." 
"Please! Help him." Cyan cried out. 
"Sure. But you'll be in dept to me." 
"I'll do anything you want! He's dying!" Tears ran down the girl's cheeks. The cat smiled. 
"Anything...?"
