Parted Ways (Bucky x Reader)

Chapter 1.

You had been best friends with Bucky and Steve since you were little. Now your 24, Bucky was 25 and Steve was 24 too. Steve had always been like a brother to both you and Bucky. You had always had a little crush on Bucky, turns out he felt the same. You started dating Bucky 2 years ago and couldn't be happier. As Steve said You and Bucky were like his parents, seeing as you would always have to get him out of trouble. Which Steve found himself in A LOT. You on the other hand knew how to defend yourself because of your Job. You have worked alongside Dr. Abraham Erskine and Howard Stark on the super-soldier serum.

You had just finished a typical day at work. Bucky had surprised you with tickets to a new film, He planned on bringing Steve along but you didn't mind one bit.

"Come on we're running late Doll" cried Bucky from the other room. You tended to take your fair time on your makeup and hair.

"I'm not done, I look a mess!" You say as you put your hair in a neat 40s hairstyle.

"You look fine Doll" you turn around to see Bucky's figure leaning in the door frame. He leans down and kissed your forehead.

"Ok! Ok, now I'm ready," you say smiling back up at him. Your hair was slightly curled at the ends and you had red lipstick on. You grabbed your purse and followed Bucky out of your apartment. You walk around the busy streets of Brooklyn, trying to find the theater when you suddenly feel someone tap your shoulder making you quickly turn around in surprise.

"Steve! You scared me, idiot" you say, still breathing heavily from the shock.

"Wheres Bucky? Surprised you are not together never seem to get you apart" Steve laughs

"We aren't always together, he's gone to the shop to grab some snacks. He said he'll find us inside" You say while rolling your eyes.

Seeing as the country was at war, the films started with a small video about signing up. You turned to see Steve looking at the screen, he looked sad. You knew how much Steve wanted to serve for his country, but because of his physical appearance, he was never enlisted. Suddenly someone sitting in front of you starts shouting

" Get on with it already" you turn around to see a woman crying, you presume that she is a widow.

"Hey, Have some respect" You hear Steve say out of the corner of your view. "Just show the cartoon already" you hear the man shout. You knew this was the last straw for Steve.

"Hey, you wanna shut up?" Steve shouts as a tall figure stands up in front of him, dragging him out of the theater. By the time you manage to locate the pair, Steve had already suffered a few punches.

"Leave him alone" You shout, he turns around to face you

"I don't want to hit a pretty woman like you now do i" You stare at him, and before you know it you punch him in the face. He quickly pins you against the wall, your panicking and can't move until you hear a familiar voice. You could tell that voice from a mile off.

"Pick on someone your own size" you look to see Bucky walking towards you, he punches the man cleanout. "Y/n! W-what happened" he says running towards you looking worried, he kisses your forehead.

"Don't look at me" you look at steve who is standing up looking a bit lost.

"What happened?" asked Bucky as he helped his friend gain his senses

" Forget about it," Steve said with a grumpy tone, bucky grabbed his shoulder and started dragging him down the alley

"We're going dancing," said Bucky while grabbing you by the waist and pulling you into a tight hug

"come on steve it will be fun," You say while relaxing your head in Buckys shoulder.

"I'll pass," Steve said with a grump. Steve hated going out, he felt insecure most of the time. Girls would laugh at him on the streets and men would throw things at him.

"Lighten up, plus you don't have a choice" You look back with a smile on your face to see steve rolling his eyes at your comment.
