I was lying in the window seal in my bedroom. It was a mostly boring day, my parents were at work, which I was thankful for, because that meant they weren't here to get mad at me of I did something they didn't like. Which seemed to be a common issue. Most of the Wizarding world didn't even know my parents had a child. However clearly someone did because today I got my letter from the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Reading through the letter once again I smiled. Of course I would be going here, it was the best school for magic. I would be away from my parents for the first time, and there was no way they could stop me.

There was a soft knock on my door and then it opened revealing Moira, the woman who I actually considered my mom since she raised me. My parents wanted nothing to do with me, so they hired her to take care of my every need. She smiled and walked in with a tray. She placed it on the table leading to the balcony in my room.

"Lunch time my dear. Also I have spoken with Misstress Avalon and she said for me to bring you to Diagon Alley to get your things for school after lunch."

I stood up from my place in the window and walked over to the table hearing her words I looked to Moira. She was a kind woman, with bright green eyes and a sharp jawline. Her hair was a soft blonde just like mine. She was a bit of a mousy woman, but I still loved her.

I sighed, "will she be staying with us, or just giving you the money?"

"That I do not know, though she did mention being very busy, and make sure to hurry up."

I sat at the table and began to eat my food. The last thing I wanted was to make her angry when today had been such a good day so far. I ate as fast as I could without choking, then I changed, knowing if I wasn't wearing the right clothes she would also get mad at me.

I looked myself over and nodded. I was wearing one of the dresses she picked out for me, should I need to leave the house for any reason. Moira and I walked to the main livingroom where the fire place was. We each took a handful of Floo powder and I went in first.

The green flames tickled my skin as I went from the livingroom to the alley. It was a bustling parade of activity. People moving to and fro as they shopped. It wasn't long before Moira joined me. She took the lead heading to where my mother would be meeting us.

Moira stopped outside of a cafe called Réalta Bheag, which meant Little Star. We saw my mother sitting in a chair on patio. We walked over to her, and I lowered my head, since that was "the respectful" thing to do.

"It's about time the two of you showed up. I have been waiting long enough."

Since my head was down she couldn't see me roll my eyes. "Sorry mother."

"Well anyway, here is the money you will need for her things. Make sure she is respectful to everyone. Should you happen to run into another pure blood family make sure she doesn't annoy them."

Moira nodded at my mother. "yes ma'am."

"Also make sure to pick her up an owl, she will need one to send home her weekly letter."

My mother always spoke to Moira, and never directly to me, unless she was angry with something I had done. She shooed us away, and we headed to get all my school things.

"So I think we should start with the robes, that way they can finish tailoring them while we finish shopping. How does that sound?"

I smiled and nodded, "that sounds like a plan."

We headed for the finest robe shop on the street, knowing my parents would want only the best for me, if only to keep their reputation. Moira opened the door and I walked in before her, taking in the shop. It was magnificent. Large, with floating robes all around the place, displaying the work of the owner. There were school robes as well as regular dress robes.
