Tam Song had never been good at making friends; he had made a list of rules to follow to avoid it. Having friends meant you had something to lose. Which was quite ironic because he had someone himself to lose, his twin sister, Linh. She was the one who liked having friends and was especially good at it. She was soft spoken and shy but had such a strong moral compass people were just attracted to her good nature. They were like opposite sides of a coin. Similar in a lot of ways yet so different. Instead of attracting people he pushed them away, like opposing magnets. Like his sister he didn't speak out much and preferred not to draw attention to himself, but didn't get along with some people or really anyone.

So he wasn't looking forward to college which unfortunately started tomorrow. Tam turned over in his bed, the springs in the mattress creaking in protest underneath him. He had turned to look at his watch sitting on his nightstand, it was 2am. He resigned to the fact that wasn't going to get any sleep, but decided staying in bed a little longer wouldn't hurt.

He would be starting his first year as a freshman in college tomorrow-today, he corrected, his watch staring back at him. To say he wasn't excited would be a major understatement.
