Helio had been ice skating since a young age. His parents had sent him off to a meaningless camp, to get at least one child off their back. Ever since then, no one's been able to get him to shake it. He's been doing it for years now. Solo skating that is. The ice, and the noise it makes against the sharp blades of the skates. The lights, the feeling, anything Helio gets from ice skating, he can't find anywhere else. It is exhilarating. He moved from L.A, to the Netherlands, to Tokyo chasing that dream. He never really staying in one spot long, but he resided in Japan for his off season. He tended to like the food in Tokyo better, and really that's his only reasoning. He was fair skinned, and his purplish-white hair didn't help his complexion. He had once dyed his hair a blue, and decided to never do it again. It meshed badly with his bright red eyes.
But Helio Ove wasn't one to stop something.
Never had been, never will be. He was in paradise, and he refused to let go of it. He reached the top of the figure skating world soon enough, and intended to keep it that way. He didn't have a large team of supporters, but it was enough to keep him going.
He had Kazue Goto, a red haired man exactly the same height as him. Six foot exactly. Kazue was definitely a bit more muscular then Helio though, broad shoulders and long legs, he definitely had a knack for weightlifting. Nearly made Helio nauseous. But, Kazue was probably one of the only people Helio could be around and not be annoyed by.
Then there was Roxanne Jones. Roxy for short. Roxy was a female skater, but had decided to coach Helio for some reason. Helio and her were an item at one point too, but even so, the rambunctious brunette was a pro. Helped Helio through the toughest of times, both on and off the ice.
And Ezra Soto as well. He got on Helio's nerves the most, but his skating was phenomenal. And no one could argue with that. As an American skater he was astonishing. His skating was expressive and he looked like he was having so much fun. He was smaller in size, but he definitely stood out. He had blond hair, with the most determined and dazzling blue eyes. He always acted so innocent. Sometimes Helio wondered if he actually was.
But he didn't think about it much. Helio had them and that's all he cared about. They were his support other then his family. His personal support. It made him happy.
Herold on the other hand, found himself stuck in a gay bar in New York City, serving yet another person. No doubt was he happy, that wasn't a thing he would dispute. He enjoyed his job. But unlike Helio, Herold had never really left New York for a long period of time. He was fine with that. He pushed his teal hair back as regulars came in.
"Backup!" He knocked the frame of the door to the backroom and out came his brother, Deniz. Deniz Whitney was smaller then Herold, fairly smaller. But, he shared the teal hair and eyes. Deniz was a lot more upbeat and did better with the newer patrons, and due to Herold's inability to communicate, Deniz was a necessary part of the business. Deniz immediately got to work, and started talking to anyone who he laid eyes on. Herold sighed and scratched a small snake tattoo he had on the side of his neck. He watched the doorway for a while, waiting and watching. He wasn't particularly waiting for anyone, but it beat spacing out.
People came and went, some went out in pairs, some left empty handed or drunk. When they started getting to the back end of the night, he caught Deniz giggling over a piece of paper. Or rather, two pieces of paper. He looked over his brother's shoulder.
"What are you doing?" Herold's uprubt words scared Deniz, causing him to almost drop what he was holding.
"Nothing bad I swear."
"Then what is it?"
Deniz smiled a wide, sly grin at that. "Roi got tickets to a skating competition~" he seemed fairly happy about that.
"Huh?" Herold blinked. He learned something new today. His brother liked ice skating.
"He gave them to me. Hey, let's go together! It'll be fun. Come on please?" Deniz doing to Herold's arm, intent on puppy-eying him into submission. It worked cause a few moments later Herold sighed and replied with a 'fine.'
"Really? Yay!" Deniz smiled again, and Herold wasn't sure if he signed himself up for a death trap, or a boring skating show. Most likely both.
