"Well, this is it," said Michelle's mother. "Do you think I will fit in?" Michelle asked. Michelle's mom nodded in response as she grabbed her bags and went into their new home. Michelle followed her mother inside and headed straight towards her new room. "Well this is nice," she thought as she placed her bags down and opened her window. Peeking through the window next to them, was a boy. A cute one, she thought. The boy next door waved at Michelle, so she smiled back. "Do you think he's my age?" said Michelle, "Go find out," said her mother. He looked like a friendly person, so she got dressed, and went outside to introduce herself. She put her  hand out and said, "Hi, I'm Michelle." He gladly took her  hand and responded, "Hey, my name is Lucas." They both smiled as they stared into each other's eyes. His green eyes captivating her attention. After the moment passed, Lucas asked, "Do you want to come inside?" Michelle flashed a quick smile while nodding, as they went inside the blonde boys' house.

LUCAS

There was a new girl next door. She had dark brown hair and looked very pretty. She came up to me and we introduced ourselves. We stared into each other's eyes for a whole minute or so. She had the most gorgeous eyes, a honey brown color with golden flecks. I could stare in those for eternity and would never want to look away. I broke the silence by asking her to come in. We headed towards my house and stepped inside. My parents were out shopping and my sister was still at school so we had the house to ourselves. "Are you hungry?" I asked. "I could use a little snack, do you have any Cheeze-its?" she questioned. "We have the white cheddar Cheeze-its," I responded. "Those are my favorite!" she remarked. I grabbed the Cheeze-its and turned on a random show on Netflix. We sat on the couch and I asked, "Is it only you and your mom?" "Yes," she said silently looking a little nervous. I decided not to touch further on the subject so she wouldn't be uncomfortable. We sat in silence for the rest of the show, I didn't mind, having her company was just enough.

MICHELLE

We were sitting in silence, not that I mind though. It was getting a little awkward as we just sat there looking at tv. The episode ended and I looked at my phone and it was already 5. I didn't want to come off as I didn't enjoy today so I sat there staying quiet. I finally broke the silence and said "I should probably head home." Lucas looked over to me then checked the time. "Oh. Yeah sure I'll walk you home." I walked out of the room as he followed me downstairs and arrived at my front porch. "Today was fun. I had a great time." I said. He responded joyfully "Ya it was great." We exchanged numbers and I walked inside, waving goodbye. My mom was in the kitchen and asked "How was your day?" "It was great! I had such a good time," I responded. My mom smiled back and reminded me that tomorrow was the start of middle school. I went into my room and decided to text Lucas. We actually ended up talking until 10, when I said I had to go because I was really sleepy. I went to go shower and got dressed for bed. I went to sleep after about 5 minutes considering I had a long and good day.

Lucas woke up bright and early the next day feeling pumped for the 1st day of 7th grade. He got dressed and rushed downstairs to eat breakfast. "I wonder if Michelle is going to the same school." He thought. He rushed into the car knowing he wouldn't have to go to school with his sister Lia anymore. "What's the rush," Lucas's sister asked obviously annoyed. "To get away from you," he snickered. "You know you love me and I bet u can't survive without me," she said dramatically frantically waving her hand. Lucas arrived at school looking at his schedule. He wondered if any of his friends have 4th lunch. A whiff of Febreeze clogged up his lungs as he entered the classroom. "Hello wonderful students! Welcome to your 1st period class of 7th grade" The teacher announced. "I'm Mrs. Joann and I'll be your ELA teacher for this year." She explained. As Lucas was looking around for his desk he saw Michelle. "Looks like we'll be best of friends this year" he thought. He looked at the desk next to her, the desk had his name plastered across it. Lucas sat down next to her and her face instantly lit up. "Looks like we're desk partners," she winked. "What lunch do you have?" He asked. "4th period" she answered. At that moment he knew this day would be a very memorable one.
