I sat near a window, silently listening to the soft sounds of the ever-busy streets of Stocksand, England. I glanced at the grandfather clock sitting next to the stairs leading down into my workshop. It is almost six in the morning. I reached into my coat pocket and pulled out an old and bumpy pocket watch. I stared at the object sitting in my hand, admiring the four blue intertwining rings engraved in the center.
Breaking from my trance, I opened the pocket watch, the old and fading face greeted me. The red numbers reading, 4:23 pm, September 4th, 1743. With a sigh, I shut the pocket watch and turned it over. I peered down at the engraved saying I have been accustomed to, "When our time runs out, Our story will continue." I ran my finger over the saying then tucked the pocket watch back into my coat. I stood up from my chair and peered out the window.
"Ten days left."
