~ Backstory ~

Hanta Sero and Denki Kaminari have been friends since elementary school. They stuck together like glue to the point where people never saw them apart. They knew everything about each other, long before they themselves could even know.

In their first year of junior high, Kaminari found out that Sero was bi, to him it was obvious. Soon after Sero came out to him.

--small flashback--

It was after school and both boys were walking home, their houses being fairly close to one an others. While strolling away from the school , Sero kept his mind busy while he partially listened to his friends rant on how it was unfair that their professor had given him a bad grade.

 The dark haired boy was contemplating how to tell the blond that he was bi. He'd known Denki's view on the subject of the community. The electric boy was completely fine with them, but, however, wanted to refrain talking about the subject. 

There was a pause in his ramble as Sero slowed to a stop.

"You good, man?" Kaminari knew something was up since the beginning of the day, but wanted his friend to bring it up himself. 

"Yea, I'm fine. I just- Honestly, I wanted to tell you that I'm bi. It's not a big deal but I just thought you should know and-" Sero was cut off by a mocking voice.

"Well i know that, you dumbass. I thought it was quite obvious, honestly. Anyways, back to Mr.Han...." As his loud classmate continued his ramble, Hanta felt relieved. At least he didnt mind it. It could have gone worse....

Although he got a good reaction, something still stuck.. He couldnt find what it was, but it was keeping his mind on loop.

Kaminari, on the other hand, knew exactly what it was that was bothering his friend. The thing was, that he himself, had began to question his sexuality. Even if he tried to keep his mind away from thinking about it, the fact was unavoidable.

Kaminari was scared to be anything OTHER than straight, since their town wasn't exactly accepting of people a part of the LGBTQ+.

In their 3rd year of junior high, Kaminari realized that Sero had a crush on him, however, he didnt say anything, not wanting to have to turn his friend down. Kaminari didnt want believe he was into guys and wasnt ready for any real relationships.

 It was the day of their school dance, Sero had prepared his confession to the electric blond. Over the past year, the latino-japanese boy had grown feelings for his friend, he had decided to ask him out during their school dance. Fortunately for him, he knew that Kaminari had decided on not going with anyone and instead staying with the dark haired male. 

The boys had made it to the dance an hour before, and were now enjoying a few drinks from the snack bar. Hanta made his way towards Denki with two red, strawberry flavored drinks in hand. 

"Here" He said as he handed the drink to kaminari, who was currently flirting with one of the girls from another group.

The blondie grabbed the drink and faced his friend, "Oh, Hey. Thanks." Denki could see it on his face, there was something the other had to say. "Dude, is there something on your mind...? You have that look. You know, the one that says 'I seriously need to tell you something, but I don't know how to say it', that look." He spoke, taking another sip from his glass.

Sero laughed a bit under his breath, Kaminari always did that, talking without a filter.. "Yea, I guess there is.." He admited. Hanta stepped closer to the now questioning boy. "You know how I always told you that I don't ten to fall easily? Well umn, I fell. Hard."

"Fell for me?" he joked, "I'm not surprised, who wouldn't" He was obviously trying to make a jokingly flirty comment.

"Yes." The latino spoke with all seriousness. Kaminari stopped. He stared deeply at his friend for a second, chewing on his lip to keep him from saying something he didn't want to say.

He sighed, "I know, and I'm sorry. I'm not gay, man. But I'm sure that there are plenty of other slightly less amazing people out there. Obviously no one is as rad as me." the boy replied while teasingly nudging the other.

That was it. His crush had rejected him. Not that it had a huge effect, he was a bit disappointed, but it was nothing he couldn't get over....

Right?

After that day, nothing changed, they would still jokingly flirt at random times and they were still close as ever. After a few weeks, both boys had started to completely erase the fact that that had happened from their minds.

Just like in the cannon, both kaminari and sero had gotten into Yuuei. Their relationship stayed the same and they still became a part of the bakusquad. Sero still had feelings for kaminari and was desperately trying to get rid of them. At this point, he was wondering if that was even possible.

Meanwhile, Kaminari was trying to push away the fact that he was questioning, and most definitely not straight.

To try and hide this, he hung out with mineta, the class perv, and had started flirting with any girl who came in his direction. He would often jokingly flirt with his friends as well. To avoid things slipping, he constantly made jokes and tried his best to rarely be serious, this was so that if he was caught saying something that could out him, it would automatically be taken as a joke. 

A problem that came with all of this, was that he was NEVER taken seriously and people often thought of him as stupid, a lost cause, or a playboy. Sero, knowing that Kami wasn't actually like this, but not understanding why he was acting differently, stayed his friend throughout.
