Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world

Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before

Let your soul take you where you long to be

Only then can you belong to me

Her feet did not think to grace the dull slate stepping stones. The gossamer dress rustled through the air like a swan cuts through water, and the fair curls fluttered in the summer breeze. She wore a crown of roses and thorns in her hair, and the water gurgled pleasantly beneath her dancer's feet. This was a divine being among beings, a princess among peasants. The people watched from the grassy shore as the girl, the young child of merely ten years, danced on the river as if it were land under the watchful gaze of the full moon.

"She is one of us," an wisened man breathed, his ancient, all knowing eyes gleaming at the prospect. The young woman beside him beamed, ample tears gliding down her face like water on glass, hands clasped against her chest. As the young girl expertly manipulated the glassy water with her feet to create a  magical spray of droplets in an extravagant shape, and her feet glided across the cobalt river, a cheer arose from the watchful crowd and the absent stars which had been hiding amongst their clouds of defense revealed themselves. A gasp and murmurs broke out.

"It is a sign from Maeve," the old man whispered breathlessly. "She no longer needs continue. She is an Inebria."

A young man heard these fateful words and stood, his mouth opening to release a cry to the people waiting with bated breath.

"Good people of the Menteair!" his voice rang out, a smooth coated sound relevant to the brisk clang of a bell. "A sign from the divine goddess, the one we pay homage to has decided on the fate of the young fairy amongst us! She has granted, through the vision of our seer, this young girl the highest honor amongst us! She is Inebria!"

The crowd took a moment to absorb this information, and then everyone shrieked with joy and happiness, excepting one. The girl who danced on the water had a face that was as blank as the moon that watched her.
