How horrifying does it seen that you have injured yourself and you need to get stitches? I have and believe me it wasn't enjoyable. This startling event happened when I was just six and I had banged my chin under the see saw.(oops gave too much info)
It happened on one pleasant evening in March, just one day before I started first grade. It was seven-thirty pm, My family and I had just finished dinner and my mother suggested for a walk. It was a gleaming full moon night with a gentle breeze blowing. We went to a nearby park. The park had some recreational facilities such as basket ball and football ground, swimming polls and much to even recollect. The park was unusually empty that and I got tired and bored of walking and little brother was napping in his stroller. I asked my mother if could take some rest.
My parents and I sat down on a bench near the play area. My parents were starting to talk about random stuff and I was bored to death. Then I saw the thing that hurt me the most for years to come, a seesaw. Without informing my parents I went to play on the seesaw with no-one on the other side. I slipped on the see-saw and my mother caught me and told me to stop. However me being stubborn and persistent as ever continued playing on the seesaw. As I was getting down from the seesaw the ledge of the seesaw hit me hard under the chin. ( mind you I was only 15kg) The I saw myself flying towards the ground at the speed of light. On my way down, the only thing I remembered was to see sand which I landed on. I was shocked and my teeth rattled.
From that point on, everything turned into a disaster. As soon as I got I touched my chin and felt it warm and wet. That only meant one thing-- my hand was full of blood. I knew that I had split my chin open and I ran back crying to my mother. We rushed back home. When my mother saw hoe badly I had hurt myself, she began to clean me and saw the deep gouge under my chin. She did first aid and told me that I would need stitches. After that we rushed to a nearby hospital.
As soon as we reached the hospital I saw my mother sign me up at the registration desk. After my mother signed me up I was taken to a nurse who bombarded me with questions. Then I was taken to the emergency ward. The doctor saw how deep my cut was and started to five me laughing gas to fade my pain away, however that gave me more pain. The surgeon had kept the laughing gas away and for a brief moment I thought my torture was over. I was greatly mistaken, The nurse kept giving me more laughing gas. Then suddenly the doctor picked up a needle and my heart skipped a beat. ( not in a good way) I was so frightened that I had almost peed my pants. I held my mothers arms tightly throughout the operation. In the there was a bandage under my chin.
I was scared that I would be scared for the rest of my life but now 8 years later there barely is a visible line under my chin. This experience brought up a life changing experience for me-- that is always listen to your mother she knows what is best for you. " As vivid as the moment may seem at the time memories and pain fade" " Time heals all wounds".
