Main Characters

Townsend  and Beauregard - I LOVE  how original C.C is with her main character's names 😍

Blurb:

Townsend Walker is thrown into the Corrupted world of Spillwater, Washington. Through her stubborn digging, she finds the secrets to her birth parents' death and meets three mysterious men who hold the unknown pieces of the puzzle of her past.

One has given everything to guarantee her safety.

One is closer to her than they both can even fathom.

And the last will do just about anything to run her out of Spillwater to keep the secrets buried.

Townsend finds herself playing a dangerous game; filled with lies, secrets and corruption. The only way she'll make it out alive is if she can keep her wits and hot temper in check.

❤️❤️❤️

I found this book because of a Book Club and it was so far one of my best findings. I like to think I enjoy every genre – except fanfics – if they are well written. But before WAF1, I wasn't much into thriller/mystery genres. Townsend's story was the one to convert me.

Important information is that this book is for 18+ readers, it has mature themes from different origins, please respect that!

The prologue is a brutal chapter, you know there is a threat, a threat that this couple is trying hard to escape. It was shivering – and for a reader, I mean this in a good way even if the chapter was dark. What is also intriguing is you don't who they are or why it happened to them. You'll have to read to know the WHY and let me tell you won't be disappointed.

Of course, eventually, I got my answers. I am still waiting for a few to be answered since I am still waiting for the second book to be finished – which by the way, C.C. FINISH THAT FAST PLEASE – Just kidding... or not! Ahah

The story itself starts 22 years after that prologue with our MC – Townsend Walker.

Everything in this book is original, even the freaking character's names. I know I am not American but even I know that Townsend isn't a common name but somehow it fits her because she is the most original and unique main character, I've read so far.

She's unpredictable, independent, driven, stubborn, stupidly brave and adopted. And that is what will take her to Spillwater, after learning the last biological family member - she didn't know she had - has passed away and left her everything.

The desire to know speaks louder and Townsend ends up in Spillwater to get to know about her birth family. The problem is that instead of answers all she gets is questions.

Besides that, she crosses paths with three different men. Each one reacts differently to her but as the story develops not all is what it seems. They are somehow linked to her in more ways than one. In this story, the line between friend and foe gets blurred more often than you can imagine.

Dangers and threats make her thread cautiously – or not - but nothing makes her give up.

In the middle of this chaos, she gets to know Beauregard – again with the original, and hard as hell, names. He's British, he's handsome and he's one of my favourite characters so far – I mean this from between all the books I have read.

I love a good angst-romance but this is by far one of the best. They have chemistry, extremely good chemistry but when they butt heads you might want to get out of their way because it's scary. When they clash is like two freaking storms collide and I love it.

I love them!!

With all the secrets, dangers, threats and life-changing experiences – good and bad, it gets harder and harder for Townsend to leave, especially because she doesn't get scared easily. The closer she gets to the truth and the more she understands the web of manipulation, secrets and cruelty going on in Spill water the more she is determined to stay and finish it once and for all. She is a Wolfe after all, one that breathes fire when it comes down to it.

Update(June 2021): This is a trilogy and the first and beginning of the second are posted on Wattpad and Inkitt. They are really worth the read. Go try them out!

❤️❤️❤️

My favourite lines:

"It's like I'm the bloody moth and Townsend's the flame. Not only is the girl the most mouth-watering thing I've ever laid my sorry eyes on but she's also the most infuriating."

Beau - CH 30

"Townsend Wolfe is like a burning flame. You can't help but get fixated on it as it flickers and dances about, forcing you in close by its warmth and brightness. By the time you figure out your about to touch it, it's already engulfed you."

Beau   - CH 49

"It's like he's come crashing in through my walls and defences and has taken up residence. During all this madness, he's consistently there, always on my side even though I've been more than difficult to deal with. I never thought I'd meet someone who could take me on so easily."

Townsend - CH 69
