walking down the beach at dusk
gentle breeze lilt in whispers
horizon changes hues and tones
brilliant bold and rich undertones
sand crunched under my soles
gruelling yet massaging strokes
tresses of curls swiftly caress
pink cheeks dimpled and shone
blue sky turned a riot of colors
yellow orange crimson and gold
play of colors awesome to behold
rising and falling waves encore
watching the scene my eyes misted
breath came fast in spells of stress
forlorn in my melancholy state
waves touched, rolled back in haste
years ago when I last came by
same waves and sands and the sky
nothing has changed, only just me
before we came, now only me..
