Cut me down, light me up.

Fake a frown, make a genuine smile.

Or would it be the other way around?

Sometimes it's so hard to tell when your eyes leave no trace of emotion.

"What a mess you've made of your one and only life; for God's sakes, pick it up."

You just don't seem to understand that the bar is set so high,

Everyone feels incompetent.

You don't comprehend that in a bland world,

With only a black and white spectrum,

The only contrast is gray, that appears on the canvas once in a blue moon,

But even that, reeks of excess.

In your eyes, the context is irrelevant,

The effort of analysis, on the other hand, is vital.

"I'm obviously trying..."

In your eyes, all I speak is blasphemy,

And all this is overrated profanity.

And this sense of vanity is something you nor god will condone.

But for heaven's sakes and for the love of god,

This world needs a wake up call or a good slap to the face,

Because this deprivation of attention is not washing off our skin;

Ignorance is the latest trend,

Condescension seems to be in style.

I know I'm not one to talk because I don't know all the answers,

But at least I don't act like I do,

Good thing I don't act like you,

Good thing for a different point of view.

Thank god for freedom of expression.
