You don't know him like I do,
there's something more that you can't see.
A troubled life, a damaged soul,
a life that's similar to me.
He hides his pain within his eyes,
yet I can still see all that's there.
I can see everything he stows away,
behind the mask he tries to wear.
The person he shows to the world,
is not who he is inside.
But he fears the world's dark cruelties,
his true self he tries to hide.
I wish he'd let the truth be seen,
for no matter how he tries.
I still see all the good in him,
hidden deep within his eyes.
