(Narrator pov)
"Ugh! But brother! Do I have to take that stupid exam?!" You groaned to your brother, uvogin. You hated public settings. There were always too many people, way too many chances to get recognized, but the worst thing in your opinion was the misgendering. You were originally female but had come out as nonbinary to uvogin a couple of years ago. he was aggressively supportive and bought you a binder with a credit card he had stolen from some rich asshole he killed, along with some new clothes that were less feminine and were more masculine-presenting. Everybody in the phantom troupe knew and was OK with it as long as you did your part.
Uvogin had his arms crossed as he nodded his head. Showing that you didn't have a choice. You sighed and looked up at the sky. You two weren't at the abandoned church that the group usually stayed at, instead you and him were in an alleyway where the two of you would talk about serious sibling stuff and upcoming missions without being heard.
"I know you hate hunters, but the boss said you needed a hunter's license because it's a useful resource, or whatever." He mocked.
"Why can't someone else go!?" I whisper yelled.
"Because anyone else would get recognized! Your kind of like our secret member! Hell! Everyone thinks there are only 13 members! You're basically our spy!" I said matter-of-factly. "Besides, your tattoo is easy to hide!" He exclaimed. He was right, the tattoo was placed on your lower back, and you never really wore crop tops, so you'd be fine.
"Fine! I'll take the damn exam! But you owe me! I say, we go hunting moon rabbits and get some whiskey!"
"Deal!" He agreed with a laugh. You hit the back of his hand with the back of yours and then grabbed his hand and shook hard. That was your sibling's way of sealing a deal.
You started talking about getting top sugary and your brother chimed in about places you could go to get it. Then an hour later you left to go take the exam. Getting a simple "good luck" from your brother as you waved goodbye to the life you've known.
