It was 11 p.m, Alex was racing down the street, breathless. He had never run so fast in his life. Panting and gasping for air, he spun his head around to check if his capturer was still chasing him. Then, a dark shadow materialized behind him and before he could call the police, he tripped on a rock making him lurk forward and came crashing down on the hard cold cement. His head felt a sharp pain but he was not worried about that; The dark figure came closer and despite all the calls for help, the street was deserted. Alex shut his eyes, expecting the pain any second now to end his life. He waited... 5 seconds passed… 10… nothing happened. Did the figure run away? Did Alex somehow frighten whatever was chasing him? Alex ran through all the possibilities in his mind while still keeping his eyes shut. It’s been around 2 minutes and finally, Alex opened his eyes. He blinked, adjusting to the blazing street lights, but saw nothing. No hint of a dark shadow, no cars, no people, and no movement whatsoever. “That's weird,” he thought. Having barely the time to process the bizarre events that happened tonight, he stood up and looked around for any signs of movement. None. He shoved his hand in his pockets and felt something metallic, a coin. He didn’t remember having a coin in his pocket when he left the party, but with that, he continued to walk down the street and it was then that the realization hit him. He does not know where he was. his phone was out of battery and the street he was on was unfamiliar. He was lost.
