Personality: Straightforward, firm, serious. But, also calm, collected and somewhat laid back. Can be callous. Only in the privacy of his home with his family and close friends does he display his more genuine, light hearted traits.

Backstory: Born in the German city of Halle. Wilhelm or Will and also Willie as his friends and family called him, came from a modest, middle class family. Will grew up near Reinhard Heydrich, (future high ranking SS officer) who was three years older than him. It did not take long for Will and Reinhard to become fast friends,

After graduating from the University of Munich in 1929, Will joins the fast growing National Socialist German Workers Party(German abbreviation- NSDAP)- the Nazi Party. He quickly becomes radicalized into an avid national socialist, believer in the Aryan Race theory and hardened Anti Semite, thanks to Adolf Hitler's fiery speeches. He joins the Schutzstaffel or SS shortly thereafter. He received an officer's commission in the SS and is placed under the direct command of his close friend Reinhard Heydrich as the deputy director of the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) the SS intelligence service, of which Heydrich was the director.
By 1942, Will had impressed his SS superiors with his tenacity and work ethic, which helped him quickly rise through the ranks of the organization. On 10 June 1942, six days after his dear friend Reinhard died of wounds sustained from a bomb explosion, of which Reinhard was the target, SS head Heinrich Himmler chooses Wilhelm to succeed Reinhard as his second in command and promotes him to SS Oberst-Gruppenfüher ("Supreme Group Leader" SS equivalent of a four star general). As the Deputy Commander of the SS, Will's authority is only second to Himmler and Hitler. Will oversees the Reich Main Security Office (German abbreviation: RHSA) within the RHSA were organizations like the Gestapo, Kripo (Criminal Police) and the SD. While not in direct control of the SS-Totenkopverbände- the Concentration Camp Service, which was under control of the WVHA- the SS Economic and Administrative Office as Himmler's number two, all reports from concentration camp authorities on the progress of the Final Solution, ends up at his office and he or mostly his staff review them before sending them up to Himmler. Though sometimes required to tour concentration camps with Himmler or in Himmler's place, Will usually doesn't like to get to personally involved in "that process" directly. While believing the work done there to be important, finds the work to be messy and grim.

Wilhelm devoted most of his time to overseeing SS administration, Gestapo operations against resistance movements and Waffen SS combat operations against the allies in the war. He travels frequently from Berlin to occupied territories within the Third Reich.
