"Come on, I won't let you stay out here."

"You barely even know me." I say and she laughs.

"Just come with me."

I hesitantly got up and walked with the lady to a small diner and we ate. As we were in the middle of eating my phone rang.

"Is it?" She asks.

"I think so."

"Answer!" She yells and I fumble my phone a bit.

"Hello?"

"Natalie?"

"Yes that's me." I say and look up at the lady.

"Congratulations! You've been selected to come and be part of the band."

"Seriously? Thank you!"

"Come back tomorrow morning at eight."

"Yes ma'am I'll be there." I say and hang up. "I got in! I get to be part of her band."

"Congratulations."

"Thank you." I say as we continue eating.

"So how old are you?"

"I'm fifteen." I say.

"I'm not telling you my age, I'm aging." She says and I laugh. "Let's go back to my house, you'll have somewhere to live."

"I have two things to tell you and those two can be a big no no. I don't know. That's all you." I say.

"What's wrong?" She asks.

"Well first I like girls."

"Sweetie, that's no problem to me. Come on."

"Wait. I have one more thing." I say. I take a deep breath and I open my mouth but she stops me.

"You don't have to tell me right away, whatever it is, it's okay with me. In my house we respect everyone no matter what. Well sometimes, if someone is being rude we don't allow that." She says and I nod. "Now come on."

The nice lady took me to her semi big house. Should I be following a stranger? No. Why did I? Hello a roof over my head. Plus she seems sincere. Sometimes you have to have faith in a person.

"Sweetie? Are you home?"

"I'm going mom! I'm just grabbing a snack!"

Oh crap. This lady has a daughter.

"I have someone I want you to meet." The lady says and I clear my throat.

"I don't want to be a bother, I can find somewhere else. Really." I say and she shakes her head.

"Not a chance, I won't let you stay out there." She says and I shrug.

A girl comes out of the kitchen and my eyes widen.

"Where's your brother?"

"Upstairs."

- - - -

"I'll grab the eggs." I say and the lady nods.

I should probably ask her for her name.

I walk towards the dairy isle, but I stop and stare at the frozen isle. Pizza sounds good. I shrug it off as I continue to walk.

I was too distracted that I suddenly bumped into someone and we both fell.

"Shoot. I'm so so-" I stop mid sentence as I look at the person and my breath hitches.

There I was. Struck by the girls eyes.

"My bad, I wasn't looking." She says helping me up.

"It's all good." I say.

"You're not from around here are you?" She asks and I shake my head. "You look like it. Well if you're new in town I hope to see you again. I'm Elizabeth but you can call me Lizzie."

"Y-yeah." I say. "I'm Natalie, but you can call me Nat."

"I have to go, nice meeting you though." She says and I wave bye.

"Woah."

"Hey, you okay? We've been looking for you."

"Sorry I got distracted. I'll grab the eggs." I say.

"So you don't live here right?"

"That's right." The lady says and I nod.

"So does that mean I'll go with you back to your home home?" I ask.

"If you would like to."

"If you let me." I say.

"You're more than welcome to." She says and I smile.

"Thank you so much."

"Can't leave you by yourself, you'll be better with us."

"Do you want a small tour of this house?" Her daughter asks me.

"Um yeah that would be appreciated." I say and she nods.

"Come on."

I walked right behind the girl as she showed me the house. One of many I'm guessing.

"My mom told me your dad kicked you out. I'm sorry to hear that."

"Yeah well not all fathers are supportive." I say with a shrug.

"What about siblings?" She asks.

"Only child. Unless so I've been told you never know. But from what I know only child."

"Oh. What about mom?"

I stopped my tracks as I gulped. I looked down at my feet and back at the girl.

"My mother passed away when I was younger, she had cancer. And cancer took her from me faster than I could have imagined."

"Oh. I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked."

"It's okay. Don't worry about it."

"Was your mom supportive of your dreams?"

"The most supportive. She bought me my first guitar. It's the one I brought with me. She was my number one fan."

"I'm sure she's still your number one fan from up there." The girl says with a smile.

"Yeah. I would hope so."
