Split String of Fate:(Killua x Reader x Kurapika)

~Exam: Phase 2~

The second phase was cooking and only 70 passed the first part where we had to roast a pig that we had to find in the forest and get Judge Buhara to say it was delicious. Everyone that gave him their dishes passed and the others didn't because he became full after eating 70 full pigs that were each the size of a house. "This guy's scary" someone whispered into Kurapika's ear. You turned to notice that it had been Y/n who had whispered in his ear. Kurapika laughed as he whispered something back, making her laugh. -tsk- you say as you started the second part of the phase.

You were to prepare something called, sushi, for the judge, Menchi. You had to admit you sucked at cooking, how the other judge survived your cooking still amazes you. You sneak a glace at Y/N who's station was in front of yours. She was beside Gon and Kurapika. She leaned over her working station and was quick at work. She seemed to know what she was doing. You looked over at Gon who was just throwing random ingredients together hoping for the best, and Kurapika seemed to to studying the set up Menchi had in front of her, trying to decipher what he was supposed to do. You laugh under your breath, 'For once the blonde doesn't know what to do.' However, your laugh didn't last long because you had no clue what to do either. 'Great, you were going to fail because you don't know how to cook.' "Well might as well try," you say as you get to work.

Your POV:

'Sushi...sushi...' you think. You've heard of it and you know how it's supposed to look, but all you know how cook are bread, cake and other desserts. You look around to see everyone else confused. Well, at least you weren't alone, you think to yourself. You look over at Gon, who was hard at work, throwing random things together. You look over at Kurapika who was analyzing the ingredients. Leorio seemed to be playing with the cooking utensils as he tried to come up with something to do. Finally, when you turned to see Killua, he had his sleeves rolled up and he was working hard. He looked cute when he was working, and his cool look had transformed into a serious and concentrating stare. Wait a second, did you just call Killua cute? Since when did you find Killua cute? He was just a friend, who you had an awkward history with.

You continued with your "sushi". You threw together the ingredients needed to make sushi and you formed it's shape based on what you remembered. When you were done, your were pretty proud of your dish, because it actually looked like sushi! You looked up and saw each one of your friends' dishes get rejected by Menchi, one by one. You the looked down at your dish and felt a little discouraged. If none of them passed, what are the chances you will? You ask yourself as you fiddle with the left-over ingredients at your work station.

"Aren't you going to show her your dish?" Kurapika questioned.

"I don't know? The rest of you got turned down, what are the chances I won't?"

"Well you never know, until you try." He said with a smile.

"Yo! Applicant 406! You're the last one let's go!" Menchi called.

"Good luck!" Kurapika said as you slowly approached Menchi with your dish.

"This actually looks good!" Menchi said before taking a piece of the sushi you had made. She chewed with a poker face the whole time, as you waited anxiously for her verdict. She closed her eyes, as if collecting her thoughts. The tension in the room grew and grew with every passing second.

"Yup, that's definitely sushi! The rice and fish were prepared expertly to perfection." she said and you breathed a sigh of relief. You turned to face Kurapika and smiled, he smiled back a little sadly, you wonder why, you passed! "However," Menchi continued and you turned around abruptly. "It's exactly like any other plate of sushi, you didn't add anything. It's boring and you didn't add your own flare to it. Therefore you fail along with everyone else."
