On the stage

You're not yourself.

But that's a good thing;

Sometimes it's

Better

To be someone else.

Honestly,

I would rather

Be a witch

Or an elf

Or a ninja.

Wouldn't you?

If you have

A problem,

You can put it off

For a while.

True,

It doesn't

Last forever,

But it helps

To get it out

Of your mind

At least for a bit.

Have you ever

Taken a second to

Just lay down

On the floor

In the grass

Under the stars?

Everyone has a

Special place to

Lay down and

Just think.

I like stages.

You can hide

Behind the curtain

Or lay right in the

Center of the

Stage.

Just think of

All the places

That stage has been.

A forest.

An apartment.

A dragon's lair.

And you're just laying

In the middle of the

History

Of the best times

And the worst times

Of hundreds

If not thousands

Of peoples' lives.

When you work on

A play,

You get close to

Your cast.

You trust them,

And they trust you.

They become

A part of

Your family

And it breaks your heart

To say goodbye

When the shows end.

When you pack up

The props

And put away

The set

And say teary goodbyes.

Because it's like

Your best friends

Your family

Are splitting up

And moving away

And you may never

See each other

All in the same place

Again.

Ever.

Isn't that sad?

But you wouldn't

Change a thing

Because you live

For those times

When you laughed

And smiled

And you were home.

You've reached the end of published parts.
