The alarm rang, but I was already awake—the 60 dollar note. I was still contemplating whether I should accept the tip. It did not sit right with me. But I decided to sleep on it and study for my next week's classes.

Thankfully, I had no classes today, so I decided to get some studies done. As I read the notes, I realised how interesting child nutrition is. We had to apply for an internship soon. But I still was not sure which field I should specialise in. I did not want to regret once I enter as an intern.

My mind still distracted, decided to do some digging.

I googled his name again. Read the related news. It was mostly how amazing volleyball player he is—the rising star of Japan. I clicked one news that caught my eye.

It was review based on Japan Association volleyball blogpost.

"Japanese National Teams have the strictest diet. The government of Japan has poured heavy investments into aiding their national players from all sports field. Since the Olympics are near, Japan Sports Association has been working with the world most expensive and experienced nutritionist. The volleyball team recently signed Carl Jeffers as their head nutritionist...." I stopped reading.

I wouldn't say I liked Carl Jeffers. His nutritionist agenda was always so toxic. His diets are super strict and inflexible. He believes in altering one's taste buds. I felt bad for the team. He is also anti-sugar.

What happens when they realise their best player has a...sweet tooth.

I signed and realised I needed a walk. Yesterday was weird. Reading this news also made me feel weird.

After wearing my coat, I headed outside. It was a little chilly outside. The ground was still wet from last night's rain. As I walked, I crossed the cafe. I decided to enter, hoping to get free lunch, although I didn't have a shift.

I entered. I saw Marie waving.

I threw my bag near the counter and sat near her.

"Sup?" She asks.
With a little slouch, I decided to say, "nothing much..".
"You look exhausted..is it school?" She asks.
"Maybe, Maybe not.." I say.
She raises her eyebrow, knowing it wasn't school.
"Someone left me 60 dollars tip yesterday..."I finally reply.
She did 'i am impressed' face.
"it's not like that...it was a mistake I think..." I say.
"Or maybe he just thought you were cute...or was generous.." Maria assures.
"Cute? Yeah right... probably he was generous." I laugh at my misery.
"Was he a regular customer?" She asks. I shook my head.
She gave an "oh" face.
"He was umm. I think..." I decided not to say much about this Volleyball player.

"What.." Marie waiting for me to finish.
"He was scary ...." I giggle. She chuckles too.

I saw the Boss. I gave a quick wave. He waved up and later high five me.
"You seem energetic today," I say with a smile.
"And....you don't.." He replies with a chuckle as he arranged the counter with more desserts. "Someone left her a 60$ tip..." Marie replies.
"Oooooh...." Boss did a little dance.
I shook my head and chuckle. "I want to return it..." I reply.
"No, Don't" Both Boss and Marie reply jokingly.
I roll my eyes and slouch further on the countertop.

"Anyway, why you so happy?" I ask
"Oh...this volleyball world cup...we getting lots of orders for our salad options...and customers" He replies.

"SALADS? Glace cafe and Salads do not go..together.." I say.
"I knoooowww....but apparently some dudes over there want it to provide to their players. I had a meeting with some famous dude name Carl Jeffers..." Boss replies.

My throat dries a little.

"umm...ye.Yeah...He is a famous sports nutritionist and celebrity chef" I say with a little frown.

"Isn't it cool? Are we actually making a profit by selling our salads? Who would have thought?" He raised his hand, waiting for a high five. I dragged myself and gave him one. He laughed and moved to the kitchen.

My phone lit up with news notification, rolling my eyes are social media algorithm.
