"If your mother is in it, you do!"
"Why? What's so important that you have to know?"
"Tell me the dreams, Ocean."
"Tell me why they're important!" Everything goes quiet and the tension in the room is growing uncomfortable. I shift my body so that my weight is focused on the other side of my body. My dad buries his face in his hands and sits back down. He shakes his head, scoffs, and looks up at the ceiling.
"Sit," he says simply and I obey. "Tell me about the dreams and I'll explain their importance." He gives in and I open my mouth to protest. I shut it quickly and let out a deep breath before explaining my dreams.
"Well-" I explain how in my first dream she said she wanted to see me and said I was dangerous and in danger. I explained how the second one was similar except that instead of being in the living room they were in the garden and that my mum was trying to convince my dad that she could help me. I said how I ran out to get a glimpse of the two but that everything was black and then I woke up.
"Do you know who your mother was talking about?"
"I have a lot of sisters, but I'm sure that both times were about me."
"You're right."
"How do you now?" I ask with pure confusion.
"I guess it's my turn to explain. Ocean, those aren't just dreams."
"What are they?"
"Your mother has always had this..." He moves his hand as if thinking of a good word to use before starting again, "thing, I guess. Your mother happened to have a strange connection with you and somehow she knew you were dangerous. Instead of trying to figure out how to help you, she ran. Those dreams are her connection with you, they're trying to tell you information that I never shared with you."
"What the what? This doesn't make a lot of sense."
"They're giving you a warning, trying to tell you that you. are. in. danger."
"Excuse me, why would I be in danger? There isn't anything out of the ordinary about me!" I immediately smirk a little knowing that there are a lot of things out of the ordinary about me. "Well, what I mean is that I'm nothing of importance to most people," I let out a little giggle before continuing. "It's not like I survived the killing curse and have a scar on my forehead, I'm not the most famous person in the wizarding world! I mean, come on, who is out there that is dangerous besides Vol-"
"Don't say his name," I roll my eyes and scoff.
"You really think his name is jinxed? Come on, Dad, it's not bad it's just a na-"
"You're right," he interrupts me and my mouth quickly shuts and the smile on my face fades away. "You're not like Harry Potter, he's not dangerous or in danger at the moment!"
"Yeah but Voldemort isn't really dead and there are still Death Eaters out there who are gonna wanna kill him," I state. I notice my dad still tensed from me saying the name and I shake my head in disbelief.
"You aren't trying to be killed my you-know-who but you are still dangerous and in danger."
"See I don't get what you mean by I'm dangerous! Do you mean my dangerous clumsiness? Because I do get hurt a lot," I turn my head and shoulder to get a look at a large scar across my left tricep. "I got that from hitting a plate on the counter while I was crouched down on the floor in the kitchen." I laugh and finish my story. "I was just trying to pick up my fork and I bumped the plate with the chair and it fell and sliced my air," I start laughing and my dad interrupts me once again.
