•Iwaizumi POV•

Oikawa and I have been friends for a long time. Sometimes even spending hours together with no words, just being in each other's presence. We are, what you could say to be best friends. For about three years now, I have started to feel differently towards Oikawa. I have tried to pass it off as jealousy or admiration, but now, it's impossible to deny. I can't just push it down anymore. The way he throws himself at me and trusts me for everything. Despite how long I have been trying to hide it, and how much I hate to say it, I am in love with Tooru Oikawa. I can't tell him that though, not yet. What if he doesn't feel the same? That'll just ruin everything. Girls are constantly all over him, who knows if he even likes guys. It's all too complicated for me. It's no secret that I'm not the most romantic person. I don't know. If you don't know him, Oikawa is this really strange guy, he is over-flowing with confidence, at the same time he is far too insecure about his performance. He is our setter on the Aoba Johsai volleyball team. I'm the ace. Oikawa is a fairly good looking guy, girls are all over him, hanging on him anytime they can get the chance. He seems to love messing with me, always saying stupid stuff, but sometimes it's kinda cute. I have been trying to be careful, so he doesn't find out, but that's slowly getting harder for me.

Next morning

Right after my annoying alarm went off, I got up and began to get dressed. A few moments later and I heard my door open. "Hurry up, Iwa!" Oikawa's voice echoed. He lives down at the end of this street so we usually walk to and from school together. I grabbed my book bag and walked down to Oikawa. We began to walk down the street in silence until Oikawa broke it. "Hey, Iwa" "What?" I said back to his sudden words. "You ever wonder why humans do the things they do?" He said, looking straight forward and still walking. "What do you mean by that?" I asked in confusion, looking at him. "What we say, what we do, how we feel," He said. I do wonder that a lot, especially towards myself. "Sometimes I just wonder what is going through other's heads, how they feel and what they think," Oikawa continued. "What has you thinking all weird like that?" I asked. "Well, I did something in the reaction of something someone else did," He said. "And I don't know what you will do" Oikawa continued. There it is, he wasn't just wondering, he did something, something I most likely wouldn't like. "What did you do, Shittykawa?" I said. "So, there's this girl and-" Before I heard the rest of that sentence my eyes darted towards him. "-she has been going a bit too far, she's been really needy and clingy. I tried to tell her that I wasn't interested, but she won't take the hint," He explained. "After our last game, she started hugging me and whatnot, so-" "Get to the point," I interrupted, knowing he was soon going to say something that would affect me. "She tried asking me out and I told her I was dating you," Oikawa blurted out, saying it quite quickly too. "What?" I said in a surprised tone. "Yeah, but that's not all," He said. "She lives up there so you have to pretend to be my boyfriend. Only of a little, I promise!" He continued. "What?" I said in the same tone as before. "There she is, quick!" Oikawa whispered. He interlocked his fingers with mine, then leaned his head on my shoulder. I felt my face begin to turn red. What if our classmates had seen us? We continued to walk like this until we passed her house. She had a face of defeat, at the same time, hatred. After we were out of her view, I pushed Oikawa off of me. "Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you," Oikawa said sounding quite relieved. "Yeah, whatever," I moved my hand up to my face, trying to hide the fact I was blushing. We continued to walk to the school.
