"For the last time I am not going to let you go on that stupid lads holiday where you will most likely be spending your time drinking and screwing girls!"
"Well its not up to you, and you know damn well I won't be screwing any girls because last time I checked, I'M WITH YOU!" roared Josh as he continued to shove clothes into a suitcase, not even thinking about what he was packing. "I'm going and that is final."
Without saying a word, Luna grabbed her phone and purse whilst slinging her jacket over her arm, before slamming the front door behind her. She hated arguing with Josh because she genuinely did love him, but sometimes she got the impression the feelings one sided. What if he was seeing other girls?
Pushing this thought from her head, she unlocked her car and drove to the nearest shopping centre for some much needed retail therapy. Not taking her foot off the accelerator for nearly the whole way there.
After three solid hours of hitting the shops, she decided she should go home if she wanted to catch Josh to apologise before he leaves for the airport. She figured she was probably being a bit harsh. Reverting her thoughts back to earlier, she continued wondering why she had such little trust for Josh. They had been together for four years and they had only started to argue more lately. What changed? Had he just fallen out of love? Or maybe he never was in love and she's kidding herself. Either way, she was soon going to find out.
Josh was just putting his coat on ready to leave when he heard a key turn and a door open, and in walked his girlfriend, face tear stained and eyes covered in smudged mascara. His eyes instantly prickled as he fought back the tears too. He had never meant to lash out at her like that earlier, he lost control of himself. Dropping his coat on the floor, he embraced his sobbing girlfriend with a hug and whispered in her ear, "I'm so sssorry."
Three hours later Luna was sat on the sofa with the flat to herself wondering how she would spend this week she had without Josh. As crazy as it sounds, they hadn't spent a day apart in over 3 years. Maybe this was what she needed. Some separation. Time to focus on herself for once and focus on her feelings. The question still lingered at the back of her mind about whether or not he was cheating but she decided to have faith in the man she loved and kick that thought out.
