I'm going to tell you a love story and don't worry, it's not the sappy kind. This story is rather sad, though, but it's all true and all mine.
My name is Nathan Marx.
My name tends to be on the tip of everyone's tongue. I have good looks, charm, brains, and lots of brawn. Not to mention, my family is the richest in the state.
I guess you could say I'm pretty much what everyone expects me to be, or so they thought.
But enough about me, Let's start from the beginning, shall we?

BRINGG!!
I sling my arm over and slam my hand on my alarm to silence it. The sun crept through my window, brushing over me as my skin soaked it in.
I unraveled the covers from myself, leaving me with nothing except my boxers clinging onto my once warm skin.
My eyes grazed over the pile of stacked clothes drooping over my old, coffee stained dresser. I scanned for a minute and pulled a solid white tee and a pair of ripped jeans out, causing the stack to topple onto the floor.
"shit", I mumbled to myself as I bent down to pick up the scattered clothing from off the floor.
I quickly threw on my clothes and walked downstairs to my kitchen.
My parents were sitting across from each other, talking about politics. My dad closed the conversation and continued to read the morning paper as he sipped his coffee while my mom began to ramble on about the neighbors' dog.
"Good morning Nate. How did you sleep sweetheart?", my mom asked as she glanced over to me from the table.
I managed to blurt out a "fine" along with a somewhat persuading smile as I took a seat at the table across from my dad.
I watched my father's eyes scan over the small printed words, back and forth, emotionless.
Within seconds, he folded his newspaper and stood up as he slid his arms into the sleeve of his black blazer.
"Well", he sighed as he tilted his wrist and read his watch. "It's time for me to get to the office. I'll see you two tonight".
He patted my shoulder and gave my mother a kiss on the cheek before walking out the front door and slamming it shut.
"I should get going too, I have to study with the group before exams", I said as I walked over to the front door and picked up my backpack off of the tile floor.
My mom waved to me as a smile rested across her face, aging lines forming at the edges of her mouth. I waved back to her and closed the door behind me.

Once I made it to school, I walked through the glass doors and into the crowd of horny, depressed teenagers. Today was strange. I didn't feel the eyes of everyone on me as I walked down the corridor like I usually do.
Whispers swim around me in the narrow hallway, engulfing me with each step I take.
This chatter was different. I wasn't the topic of any of their conversations. These gossips were about someone else for once.
"Nate!"
I stop and spin around to the sound of a familiar voice and see one of the few faces I actually enjoy.
"Hey Kat", I say as I feel a small smile form on my lips.
She returns the favor and curls her rosy red lips into a smile that you would only find on front covers of magazines.
