He had probably tried to exit the burning vehicle but probably couldn't get quite far before losing consciousness. The place he was lying, wasn't exactly conspicuous but they had been searching for him in a different direction. So I tried and failed to call back the emergency center and I had to rush up getting my car to work and took him down to the hospital."
"Why didn't you announce to the world so that his family could come for him?" Baasim's father asked but tried not to sound accusatory.
"I did but no one showed up and it didn't help that he lost his memory and couldn't remember a thing about himself except his name. So I volunteered to take him in". Muhammad concluded.
"Alhamdullillah,. I'm really grateful about that. Thank you for saving my son and you too for saving me". He said to Baasim and Muhammad. "I assure you, Baasim that you would always be my son even if I wasn't your biological father and I'll have you know that I'm happy to have you around".
Baasim beamed when he heard this and he got up to hug his father. He moved next to his father's son and hugged him too. "I'm glad to be your new brother, Muhammed Aaqib".
"You can simply call me Aaqib without adding the Muhammad, that's a mouthful." Aaqib jokingly added. "And I must warn you that I have several brothers".
Muhammad was perturbed when he heard this and asked. "How do you know that, I thought you lost your memory?"
"Yes I did, I didn't even realize that I could remember some things. I think father may have triggered that reaction. Aaqib replied. "Didn't you figure it out when I recognized father?"
"I simply thought he was the only person you remembered. I don't know how this thing works". He replied embarrassingly.
"Alhamdullillah for this. At first, when I was mute, I didn't know how to react when Baasim kept calling me his father when I clearly knew that I didn't have a son named Baasim but at the same time I could feel that he had been taking care of me and I didn't want to seem ungrateful which was why I refused to speak after getting treated even though I could. I've been thinking of a way to approach the situation. My name is Abdulahad for those that do not know and I'm glad to be with you all".
"So are we". Muhammad and Baasim both replied.
"Well, we would rest here today and go back home tomorrow Insha Allah, my family would be thrilled to have us back". Abdulahad started. "And you are coming with me". He gestured at Baasim and he was simply overjoyed.
"I'm going to be so lonely but I'm happy for you". Muhammad commented.
"I'll drop by from time to time Insha Allah". Aaqib promised his boss and they settled down to have their meal.
******
Very early the next morning, the trios set out on their journey. Muhammad was sad to see them go and would have loved to go with them but didn't want to intrude on the family reunion, so he had to keep his wish to himself. He gifted Aqib a car when he learnt that he could drive and hoped that he had not become rusty since it had been almost three years since he last drove.
Aaqib could not totally remember the direction to his home so Abdulahad helped him out and two stopovers and seven hours later, they got back home. The security guard was missing but Abdulahad made nothing of it and asked Aaqib to drive straight towards the mansion.
Baasim was open-mouthed throughout. If Muhammad was rich, then his father is stinking rich. He doesn't know what such kind of building is called but he knows that it's more huge than Muhammad's which means that his father is richer. He hadn't even considered that factor but he should have considering his father's carefree attitude at Muhammad's place when they arrived at the house for the first time.
They stepped out of the car and moved towards the house. Abdulahad rang the doorbell and it was Idris who came to invite them in. As soon as he saw the trio, he was tongue tied. He thought he was seeing ghosts but he knew that there's nothing like a ghost.
"Will you keep standing there and staring at me or do you need me to teach you some manners." Abdulahad threatened.
'This is definitely my father'. Idris thought and quietly moved out of the way to permit them entry into the house. He didn't recognize the third person that came with them but that's a lesser issue.
The three of them entered and received the same reaction from the rest of the family. After their shock wore off, they were received warmly by Aisha only and they soon knew the reasons for their reactions when Hayatullah showed up.
Abdulahad spent the following week trying to get back his properties because his relatives were not willing to part with what they thought were theirs forever most especially, his third wife, Haleemah and the fourth, Hayatullah. It also didn't help that his previous lawyer, Matt has his own firm now and no longer worked for him.
He had to hire a new lawyer and the new lawyer advised him to make peace with his wives rather than trying to fight them in court. His lawyer had told him that he might eventually win the case but it would take a very long time before he could succeed and the easiest way to go about it is by resolving it among the family.
He spoke with his wives and they collectively agreed to help him get back on his feet if he changed his attitude towards them. They no longer wanted to be treated like dirt and wanted to be recognized properly as his wives and he had no choice but to agree with them. They equally accepted the newest addition, Baasim, and Aisha took him under her wing as well. Aaqib didn't have a problem with any of their arrangements. He has a calm personality anyways. So as long as there's food to eat and cloth to wear, then he is good.
Abdulahad wished he had a better relationship with his wives rather than treating them like enemies just because of what he went through in his childhood, after all, Allah aza wá jal has told us that we should suppress our ego by forgiving others even if they didn't ask for our forgiveness, we don't do it for them, we do it for Allah.
He had neglected his extended families and transferred the aggression on his immediate family
He had always made them feel like he was doing them a favor by feeding and clothing them but rather than treating him the same way, they had forgiven him despite the conditions they gave him and had been treating him better than he would have if he had an opportunity to do the same.
Abdulahad then made a resolve to forgive his extended family for the wrongs they did him in order to earn Allah's forgiveness.
His extended family had neglected him when he was young and able and Allah had raised him above. Which of the favors of Allah could he deny.
But he decided to take revenge on them by not giving a dime when he prospered. While a young poor boy, Baasim had helped him out when he had been left for dead. If this isn't a sign from Allah to mend his relationship, then he didn't know what it is.
The end.
And so the journey had ended. Alhamdullillah.
Jazakumullah khayran to those that rode with me on this short journey😍may Allah sustain us all. Aameen 🙏
