Chapter 1

Sydney woke up dreading this Saturday. She was deep in sleep when her phone alarm beeped. Normally Saturday is a splendid day for most teenagers, but she was dragged into going to a party by her best friend, Trish. Sydney is a ginormous introvert and hates big parties or parties in general. Unfortunately, she happened to befriend the most popular girl at school and the biggest extrovert you have ever met. She just stretched, got out of bed, and got ready. As she was about to leave her room she got a text message on her phone. It was from Trish. "I hope you got what you want to wear loser?" Sydney groaned. In truth, she did have something to wear but she did not want to go to this party and she did not like being called a loser even though she knew Trish was joking around. " Yes I do and it's going to be better than what your wearing fool." She quickly texted back and locked the phone before leaving her room.

On the dining table downstairs Sydney was eating a lot, as always, and watching one punch man on Netflix when her dad came barging in shouting loudly into the phone, he saw her and cut the call. "Honey, if you finish all the pancakes what will I eat?" She put down her phone and smiled at him "Dad, you know food is my soulmate and I know he can never leave me, unlike Jannice!" Jannice was Sydney's stepmother, she left for no reason with no trace and left Sydney's dad heartbroken for the second time. His wife had died of cancer when Sydney was only 3 and that is why he is a doctor because all of that happened to Sydney while she was quite young it led to her having trust issues and depression. She obviously didn't show this to everyone else and acts very normal in school. She is at the top of her class and loves science, she is the captain of the girl's soccer team and basketball team and she has a Youtube channel with 6.7 "lovely, as she called them" subscribers.

Dad winced at her statement and didn't say another word until he left for work. She went to the living room to continue watching her anime but 15 minutes into an episode there was a loud bang on the door. She instantly knew who it was, her boyfriend, D'shawn, and she decided to tease him before she let him in. "What's the secret password?" she said in a playful manner. Her boyfriend muttered, "You're the best". She laughed "I can't hear you" "You're the best!" he shouted. She finally let him in.
