Chapter 18

I see Grayson and Katniss staring at me and I feel tears coming down my face. I turn away and right when im about to run, my father bangs on the glass. I turn around and he has a 9mm pistol. He shoots the glass and it breaks. He climbs through and motions for me to come closer to him.

I walk over to him very slowly and he forces me down to the ground. My mind goes back to when I was 11 and my mom was so mad at me that she whipped me with her belt across my back over 20 times. I look up at my dad and he takes his belt off.

I can’t believe that my dad is going to whip me in front of my boyfriend.  The first lash hits me and I scream out in pain. He lashes me at least 10 more times. I then hear a bump and Emily hits him in the back. Taylor comes and hits him in the leg.

2 peacekeepers come out of nowhere and subdue Emily and Taylor. Grayson comes over and helps me up. “Jordan, if you wont tell the secret then…” A flash is thrown into the room and were all blinded.

When the flash ends, Emily, Taylor, my dad, and the 2 peacekeepers are nowhere to be found. I look at Grayson and he looks boiling mad at me and my father. He whispers something to Katniss.

Katniss grabs her communicator and says,” All TM members report to prisoner base, NOW”! In a matter of minutes, the entire team is there and I wait no longer. I run out of the building and toward my fathers mansion.

Naomi POV

The entire team is running as fast as we can to catch up with rawlings. He kidnapped Emily and Taylor and who knows what he is going to do with them. After what seems like hours, we reach rawling’s mansion.

We look around and we hear, “Up here, little birds”. We all look up and he is atop the tower. I see taylor and Emily. Their hands are tied behind their backs and rags are over their head. “Dad, why are you doing this, Jordan frantically yells at him.

 “my dear old daughter, you know why and youre going to reveal that reason right now or I push these pathetic human beings over the edge”. “I’m not saying, dad”. ‘have it your way, Jordan. Well you know what, I’m not going to do it”.

He points behind him and brings a man in a ski mask steps forward. He takes the mask off and I am shocked. “Liam”!!!! “hey, sis, by the way I killed mom and dad last year. I told you that you and the birds would pay the consequences”.

He pushes them over and they hit the ground but they don’t die. Liam walks over to where another body is standing. He brings her over and takes the rug off and I have no idea who it is but Jordan does.

Jordan Pov

I see my younger sister, Silver and my dad places a gun to her head and shoots killing silver. He pushes her over the edge and I have had enough. I rush after my dad and the unknown dude.

Katniss POV

I stand there debating what to do and I hear,”Katniss”! I turn around and I’m staring right into the eyes of Sloane “the snake” Snow. “Go follow Jordan, all of you, NOW”! “Katniss, lets take a walk”. I walk beside her and we walk into a building. She sits down beside me and I turn and face her.

“How are you alive, Janey killed you months and months ago”. “well, as Liam said, Naomi’s mom was actually me, I had her put in my place. Before we get any farther, how is my daughter”?

“she’s good Sloane. Now, I’m giving you a second chance to raise your daughter. You will live in my house and you will stay in Olivia’s room. I swear to god if you screw up, I will kill you on the spot, got it”?

“understood Katniss”. “now, Sloane go take sit in the train and wait for us. We will return with Liam and President Rawlings and we will decide what do with Liam. I’m pretty sure Rawlings will be killed by Jordan when we get abck to District 12.

I escort her to the train and I lock all the doors trapping her inside. I then hurry my way to catch up with my team.

Jordan POV

I see a peacekeeper and I throw a knife at him. He falls to the ground and I switch clothes with her. I’m in a peacekeeper outfit and I finally reach my father’s mansion. The peacekeeper sees me and lets me in my fathers mansion.

I approach the foyer where my dad spends all of his time and I knock on the door. “Come in”. I put my glasses on and I walk in and see my ass of a father. “What do you want, he snaps”.

I take the helmet off and my hair flows down my back and I take off my glasses and say,” Thought you would get away from me dad”? I charge at him and he sidesteps me and the mystery dude pops out and grabs me.

 I punch him in the gut and I see Naomi burst through the door and grab Liam. She subdues him and takes him outside. I focus my attention back on my father and he is reaching for something.

I charge at him and spear him out of the glass window and land on the mansion grass. A 12 guage shotgun lands a couple feet from us. He slaps me in my abck and there are glass shards and they dig into my back. I scream out in  extreme agony.

He grabs the shotgun and places it against my head and says,” Time to die..” His head twitches and he falls to the ground dead. I see a tall dark skinned girl and she has a pistol in her hands.

Katniss POV

I catch up with my team and Naomi has Liam subdued and Jordan is on the ground with glass shards stuck in her back. I see a dark skinned girl standing with a gun in her hand. She ,must have shot Rawlings. I look at her more closely, and I almost fall back when it hits me.

She looks exactly like…

Rue.
