All‌ ‌I‌ ‌can‌ ‌hear‌ ‌is‌ ‌the‌ ‌rhythm‌ ‌of‌ ‌my‌ ‌feet‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌ground‌ ‌when‌ ‌running.‌ ‌My‌ ‌witch‌ ‌(Madeleine)‌ ‌is‌ ‌probably‌ ‌
looking‌ ‌for‌ ‌me,‌ ‌but‌ ‌I‌ ‌don't‌ ‌want‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌found.‌ ‌My‌ ‌feet‌ ‌start‌ ‌to‌ ‌move‌ ‌faster‌ ‌as‌ ‌I‌ ‌feel‌ ‌the‌ ‌presence‌ ‌of‌ ‌someone‌ ‌watching‌ ‌
my‌ ‌every‌ ‌move.‌ ‌I‌ ‌run‌ ‌into‌ ‌a‌ ‌building‌ ‌that‌ ‌looks‌ ‌old‌ ‌and‌ ‌abandoned‌ ‌looking‌ ‌for‌ ‌a‌ ‌place‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌safe.‌ ‌I‌ ‌enter‌ ‌through‌ ‌a‌ ‌
hole‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌wall‌ ‌just‌ ‌big‌ ‌enough‌ ‌for‌ ‌me‌ ‌to‌ ‌fit.‌ ‌As‌ ‌I‌ ‌start‌ ‌to‌ ‌look‌ ‌around,‌ ‌I‌ ‌find‌ ‌stairs‌ ‌and‌ ‌two‌ ‌doorways.‌ ‌I‌ ‌saunter‌ ‌into‌ ‌a‌ ‌
room‌ ‌I‌ ‌find‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌the‌ ‌living‌ ‌room.‌ ‌I‌ ‌see‌ ‌furniture‌ ‌that‌ ‌was‌ ‌stacked,‌ ‌a‌ ‌sofa‌ ‌and‌ ‌coffee‌ ‌table‌ ‌then‌ ‌a‌ ‌lit‌ ‌fire‌ ‌crackling.‌ ‌I‌ ‌
decide‌ ‌to‌ ‌transfigure‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌two-legged‌ ‌being,‌ ‌then‌ ‌sit‌ ‌down‌ ‌and‌ ‌start‌ ‌to‌ ‌drift‌ ‌off‌ ‌to‌ ‌sleep.‌ ‌I‌ ‌awaken‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌shine‌ ‌of‌ ‌
the‌ ‌room;‌ ‌the‌ ‌moonlight‌ ‌was‌ ‌peeking‌ ‌through‌ ‌a‌ ‌boarded‌ ‌up‌ ‌window.‌ ‌I‌ ‌drowsily‌ ‌get‌ ‌up‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌sofa,‌ ‌and‌ ‌wanting‌ ‌to‌ ‌
still‌ ‌explore‌ ‌as‌ ‌I‌ ‌walk‌ ‌into‌ ‌the‌ ‌dining‌ ‌room,‌ ‌I‌ ‌notice‌ ‌a‌ ‌heavy‌ ‌draft.‌ ‌Not‌ ‌wanting‌ ‌to‌ ‌know‌ ‌what‌ ‌it‌ ‌is,‌ ‌I‌ ‌continue‌ ‌on.‌ ‌As‌ ‌I‌ ‌
continue‌ ‌to‌ ‌walk,‌ ‌I‌ ‌start‌ ‌to‌ ‌hear‌ ‌voices‌ ‌and‌ ‌cries‌ ‌for‌ ‌help.‌ ‌I‌ ‌continue‌ ‌on‌ ‌ignoring‌ ‌the‌ ‌voices,‌ ‌and‌ ‌I‌ ‌find‌ ‌stairs.‌ ‌
Hesitantly,‌ ‌I‌ ‌started‌ ‌to‌ ‌climb‌ ‌up‌ ‌the‌ ‌stairs,‌ ‌scared‌ ‌of‌ ‌them‌ ‌breaking‌ ‌under‌ ‌my‌ ‌weight.‌ ‌At‌ ‌the‌ ‌top‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌stairs‌ ‌started‌ ‌
the‌ ‌hallway.‌ ‌ ‌

The‌ ‌first‌ ‌thing‌ ‌I‌ ‌saw‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌half‌ ‌torn‌ ‌door.My‌ ‌first‌ ‌suspicion‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌mythical‌ ‌creature‌ ‌was‌ ‌being‌ ‌reckless.‌ ‌But‌ ‌
then‌ ‌I‌ ‌remembered‌ ‌humans‌ ‌are‌ ‌getting‌ ‌more‌ ‌reckless‌ ‌than‌ ‌mythical‌ ‌creatures.‌ ‌I‌ ‌started‌ ‌to‌ ‌trot‌ ‌over‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌door‌ ‌and‌ ‌ducked‌ ‌under‌ ‌the‌ ‌upper‌ ‌half.‌ ‌I‌ ‌look‌ ‌around‌ ‌the‌ ‌room,‌ ‌but‌ ‌I‌ ‌can't‌ ‌find‌ ‌the‌ ‌object‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌noise.‌ ‌Mysteriously,‌ ‌a‌ ‌faint‌ ‌
person‌ ‌starts‌ ‌to‌ ‌appear.‌ ‌It‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌man‌ ‌about‌ ‌my‌ ‌age‌ ‌(21).‌ ‌He‌ ‌had‌ ‌extraordinary‌ ‌eyes.‌ ‌One‌ ‌eye‌ ‌was‌ ‌turquoise‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌
hue‌ ‌of‌ ‌navy.‌ ‌His‌ ‌other‌ ‌eye‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌shade‌ ‌of‌ ‌grey.‌ ‌His‌ ‌hair‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌vibrant‌ ‌red.I‌ ‌approached‌ ‌the‌ ‌boy‌ ‌with‌ ‌vigilance.‌ ‌As‌ ‌I‌ ‌
approached‌ ‌him,‌ ‌I‌ ‌noticed‌ ‌he‌ ‌was‌ ‌fragile‌ ‌and‌ ‌indeed‌ ‌of‌ ‌assistance;‌ ‌he‌ ‌had‌ ‌bruises‌ ‌and‌ ‌wounds‌ ‌all‌ ‌over,‌ ‌but‌ ‌the‌ ‌
wounds‌ ‌did‌ ‌not‌ ‌look‌ ‌fresh‌ ‌.‌ ‌They‌ ‌looked‌ ‌about‌ ‌eight‌ ‌to‌ ‌ten‌ ‌weeks‌ ‌old.I‌ ‌tap‌ ‌him‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌shoulder‌ ‌he‌ ‌notices‌ ‌then‌ ‌
starts‌ ‌to‌ ‌back‌ ‌away.‌ ‌I‌ ‌notice‌ ‌he's‌ ‌trembling‌ ‌in‌ ‌fear.‌ ‌I‌ ‌asked‌ ‌myself‌ ‌'is‌ ‌he‌ ‌scared‌ ‌of‌ ‌me?!'‌ ‌As‌ ‌I‌ ‌start‌ ‌to‌ ‌reach‌ ‌out‌ ‌and‌ ‌try‌ ‌
to‌ ‌calm‌ ‌him,‌ ‌my‌ ‌hand‌ ‌starts‌ ‌to‌ ‌shake.‌ ‌I‌ ‌whisk‌ ‌my‌ ‌hand‌ ‌away‌ ‌as‌ ‌for‌ ‌him‌ ‌not‌ ‌to‌ ‌see.‌ ‌I‌ ‌look‌ ‌away‌ ‌out‌ ‌of‌ ‌shame.‌ ‌

"Are‌ ‌you‌ ‌frightened‌ ‌by‌ ‌me?"‌ ‌I‌ ‌scarcely‌ ‌gave‌ ‌a‌ ‌voice‌ ‌to.‌ ‌
"NO,‌ ‌of‌ ‌course‌ ‌not!‌ ‌You‌ ‌just‌ ‌frightened‌ ‌me,"‌ ‌he‌ ‌quickly‌ ‌declared.‌ ‌
"Oh,‌ ‌I'm‌ ‌sorry‌ ‌I‌ ‌scared‌ ‌you.‌ ‌I‌ ‌just‌ ‌saw‌ ‌you‌ ‌were‌ ‌injured‌ ‌and‌ ‌wanted‌ ‌to‌ ‌help,"‌ ‌I‌ ‌claimed‌ ‌softly.‌ ‌
"It's‌ ‌fine.‌ ‌I‌ ‌just‌ ‌thought‌ ‌you‌ ‌were‌ ‌here‌ ‌to‌ ‌harm‌ ‌me"‌ ‌he‌ ‌expressed.‌ ‌
‌"Just‌ ‌like‌ ‌so‌ ‌many‌ ‌before‌ ‌you,"‌ ‌he‌ ‌muttered.‌ ‌

I‌ ‌look‌ ‌back,‌ ‌hearing‌ ‌whispers‌ ‌and‌ ‌cries‌ ‌more‌ ‌and‌ ‌more.‌ ‌Unable‌ ‌to‌ ‌push‌ ‌them‌ ‌aside‌ ‌anymore.‌ ‌I‌ ‌try‌ ‌and‌ ‌ignore‌ ‌them‌ ‌
and‌ ‌go‌ ‌back‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌conversation.‌ ‌

"What's‌ ‌your‌ ‌name?!"‌ ‌I‌ ‌ask‌ ‌abruptly.‌ ‌ ‌

Frightened‌ ‌by‌ ‌the‌ ‌abruptness,‌ ‌he‌ ‌jumped.‌ ‌

"Huh!?"‌ ‌he‌ ‌said‌ ‌frightened‌ ‌but‌ ‌still‌ ‌answered.‌ ‌
"Milo!‌ ‌What's‌ ‌yours?"‌ ‌Milo‌ ‌answered,‌ ‌showing‌ ‌he‌ ‌was‌ ‌trying‌ ‌to‌ ‌keep‌ ‌the‌ ‌conversation‌ ‌going.‌ ‌
‌ ‌
I‌ ‌continued‌ ‌the‌ ‌conversation‌ ‌like‌ ‌he‌ ‌wanted‌ ‌knowingly.‌ ‌

"Percy.‌ ‌What‌ ‌are‌ ‌you‌ ‌doing‌ ‌here‌ ‌all‌ ‌alone?"‌ ‌I‌ ‌questioned.‌ ‌
"I‌ ‌live‌ ‌here,‌ ‌silly!‌ ‌What's‌ ‌it‌ ‌like‌ ‌to‌ ‌live‌ ‌out‌ ‌there?"‌ ‌MIlo‌ ‌remarked‌ ‌while‌ ‌pointing‌ ‌at‌ ‌the‌ ‌balcony.‌ ‌

That‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌question‌ ‌I‌ ‌never‌ ‌thought‌ ‌I‌ ‌would‌ ‌hear.‌ ‌Unknowing‌ ‌how‌ ‌to‌ ‌respond,‌ ‌I‌ ‌ask‌ ‌another‌ ‌question‌ ‌unrelated‌ ‌to‌ ‌
Milo's‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌time‌ ‌being.‌ ‌

"Actually,‌ ‌I‌ ‌was‌ ‌wondering,''‌ ‌I‌ ‌started.‌ ‌
I‌ ‌asked,‌ ‌unknowing‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌answer."Do‌ ‌you‌ ‌know‌ ‌where‌ ‌the‌ ‌whispers‌ ‌and‌ ‌cries‌ ‌are‌ ‌coming‌ ‌from?"‌ ‌ ‌

"Oh,‌ ‌those‌ ‌are‌ ‌the‌ ‌other‌ ‌ghosts!"‌ ‌he‌ ‌came‌ ‌out‌ ‌unembellished.‌ ‌
I‌ ‌replied‌ ‌unembellished."Other‌ ‌ghosts!?‌ ‌What‌ ‌do‌ ‌you‌ ‌mean‌ ‌Milo?"‌ ‌ ‌
"Ah,‌ ‌you‌ ‌didn't‌ ‌realize‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌a‌ ‌ghost?"‌ ‌Milo‌ ‌questioned.‌ ‌
"Milo,‌ ‌do‌ ‌you‌ ‌know‌ ‌why‌ ‌the‌ ‌ghosts‌ ‌are‌ ‌here?"‌ ‌Avoiding‌ ‌the‌ ‌answer.‌ ‌
."Well,‌ ‌you‌ ‌see‌ ‌they‌ ‌all‌ ‌want‌ ‌to‌ ‌say‌ ‌goodbye‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌ones‌ ‌they‌ ‌truly‌ ‌love,‌ ‌but‌ ‌I'm‌ ‌a‌ ‌different‌ ‌story."Milo‌ ‌Nonchalantly‌ ‌
spoke.‌ ‌
"Then‌ ‌I‌ ‌can‌ ‌help‌ ‌you;‌ ‌see,‌ ‌I'm‌ ‌not‌ ‌a‌ ‌human."‌ ‌I‌ ‌mentioned.‌ ‌
"You're‌ ‌not!"‌ ‌Milo‌ ‌hollered‌ ‌thunderstruck.‌ ‌ ‌
"Yeah‌ ‌I‌ ‌actually‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌witch's‌ ‌apprentice‌ ‌or‌ ‌a‌ ‌familiar."‌ ‌I‌ ‌remarked.‌ ‌
I‌ ‌got‌ ‌up‌ ‌and‌ ‌pulled‌ ‌out‌ ‌a‌ ‌photo‌ ‌of‌ ‌Madeleine‌ ‌and‌ ‌me.‌ ‌

"I‌ ‌know‌ ‌it's‌ ‌a‌ ‌little‌ ‌weird‌ ‌but‌ ‌that's‌ ‌me‌ ‌the‌ ‌cat"‌ ‌I‌ ‌mumble‌ ‌as‌ ‌I‌ ‌sit‌ ‌down‌ ‌again.‌ ‌
"Really‌ ‌you‌ ‌look‌ ‌adorable!"Milo‌ ‌Cood‌ ‌at‌ ‌me.‌ ‌

"How‌ ‌can‌ ‌you‌ ‌help‌ ‌them."Milo‌ ‌questioned‌ ‌not‌ ‌wanting‌ ‌to‌ ‌disappoint‌ ‌the‌ ‌ghosts.‌ ‌
Then‌ ‌not‌ ‌waiting‌ ‌one‌ ‌more‌ ‌second‌ ‌I‌ ‌start‌ ‌to‌ ‌explain.I‌ ‌explain‌ ‌how‌ ‌there‌ ‌are‌ ‌two‌ ‌ways‌ ‌but‌ ‌one‌ ‌would‌ ‌be‌ ‌one‌ ‌the‌ ‌
other‌ ‌could‌ ‌happen‌ ‌forever.Milo‌ ‌looked‌ ‌at‌ ‌me‌ ‌and‌ ‌just‌ ‌nodded.Milo‌ ‌helped‌ ‌me‌ ‌set‌ ‌up‌ ‌and‌ ‌he‌ ‌got‌ ‌all‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌ghosts‌ ‌in‌ ‌
line.‌ ‌But‌ ‌then‌ ‌Milo‌ ‌left‌ ‌to‌ ‌go‌ ‌look‌ ‌for‌ ‌a‌ ‌culdron‌ ‌or‌ ‌pot.‌ ‌When‌ ‌Milo‌ ‌was‌ ‌gone‌ ‌I‌ ‌started‌ ‌to‌ ‌practice‌ ‌my‌ ‌magic‌ ‌and‌ ‌got‌ ‌
warmed‌ ‌up.everyone‌ ‌noticed‌ ‌that‌ ‌my‌ ‌magic‌ ‌was‌ ‌going‌ ‌haywire‌ ‌when‌ ‌warming‌ ‌up.‌ ‌So‌ ‌I‌ ‌started‌ ‌jogging,‌ ‌turning‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌
run.‌ ‌When‌ ‌looking‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌kitchen‌ ‌to‌ ‌find‌ ‌Milo‌ ‌I‌ ‌fall‌ ‌and‌ ‌bring‌ ‌Milo‌ ‌with‌ ‌me.‌ ‌

Exhausted‌ ‌I‌ ‌say‌ ‌panting.‌ ‌"M...magic.....gone....h...haywire"‌
