The Cursed Prince [a miraculous au]

Prologue

In the 16th century, Paris ruled a strong, but beloved by the people, royal family. The Agreste.

King Gabriel married duke Graham de Vanil's daughter, Emily.

The wedding ceremony was brilliant and everyone loved their new queen.

A year later, Queen Emily brought to life a beautiful, sweet little boy.

The little prince had golden hair and green eyes, like his mother's.

When Adrien was 9 years old, his parents had to go to England to make a peace deal with the king.

"Adrien, your mother and I have to leave for a few days. You will stay here and  Natali and Simon will take care of you" the king told his only son.

"Don't worry, we'll be back soon." Emily reassured Adrien and gave him her black ring with a green paw on it.

After they said their goodbyes, Gabriel and Emily left.

Meanwhile in Marinette's house

"Marinette, honey, are you ready?" Tom's voice echoed from downstairs.

"Yes Papa, I am" 5-year-old Marinette replied to her father from her room, taking a last glimpse of herself in the mirror.

Making her way to the living room, she grabbed her coat. "Papa...?" she asked with a sweet voice.

"What is it, sweetheart?" he turned around and that's when he saw his daughter. He gave her a little smile, after observing her.

"Will maman see us from up there or will she forget us?" the little bluenette asked with tears in her beautiful bluebell eyes, while playing with her hands out of pure nervousness.

"Your mom will always remember and protect you sweetie, no matter what. And never forget that" Tom kneeled down and put his hand on Marinette's shoulder.

She nodded smiling weakly. Then, Tom reached for his pocket and pulled out a black little box with gold Chinese symbols.

He opened it, revealing a pair of ladybug themed earrings.

"These earrings belonged to your mother. Sabine always said she wanted to give them to you on your 10th birthday, but I'm giving them to you now to make you feel like Mom's always by your side."

Marinette quickly wiped off some of her tears before smiling and taking her mother's earrings, observing them.

" They are beautiful! Thank you papa!" they hugged each other tight.

After Tom helped his daughter to style her hair in twin pigtails, they went to Sabine's funeral.

~2 days later at the Agreste castle~

The young prince roamed around the big hallway, when he spotted Natalie.

He reached her and asked her "Natalie in how many days will mother and father be here?"

She gulped. She took a moment or two to find a way to tell the prince the bad news.

After a while, she decided that there was no easy way to say it so she took a deep breath before telling him.

"Adrien, my prince, your parents aren't coming"
