Each night the Lover would wait
For never could the desiring Lover unveil for his beloved
Though both with pining bright would wish
It was their fate to be ever apart
At dawn and dusk they would glance upon the other
But only from afar, and never close
He veiling his strength and power to reach her
Her own silver countenance veiled by dawn or dusk
Their meeting could never be more
Than a quick and burning glimpse
Destiny would sweep each away to be apart
And through the dawn and dark they would wait
Alas, the Lover of the beautiful Moon
Never could he reign with his beloved
They danced round and round, ever out of sight
Always waiting the end of day or night
