Chapter Sixty-Three

Carina ran out of the room – just like the others. Roman, grabbed her and led her to the directions of the stairs that would lead to their common rooms. He looked back and saw Morgan running away with Cedric.

"We have to hurry!" Roman said, pulling on Carina's hand.

They turned a corner –

"Black, Alston," Goyle smirked.

Goyle stood before Carina and Roman, aiming his wand at them. Roman covered Carina from Goyle's aim and reached for his wand.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, Alston," Goyle smirked.

"Actually, I would, Goyle," Roman said. "Stupe—"

"Petrificus Totalus!"

Goyle fell on the ground petrified and behind him stood Theodore, who held his wand aimed at Goyle. Carina noticed Theodore panting and a panic look on his face.

"Theodore," Roman said.

"You have no time; we have to go!" Theodore said, "Just follow me."

Theodore transformed to his peregrine falcon form and led the way through the halls. He squawked when he saw a member of the Inquisitorial Squad and would have Roman and Carina Stun them or Petrify them. They reached the Gryffindor common room and Theodore transformed back to his human form.

"Carina, get to bed, and don't do anything else, do you understand?" Theodore ordered.

"What about you two?" Carina asked.

"We'll be fine," Roman said.

"I'll take care of it – now go!" Theodore said.

Carina said the password to the Fat Lady then entered the room, and there she saw Hermione and the others who had slipped the clutches of the Inquisitorial Squad.

"Carina!" Hermione went to her, "How'd you get here? I thought we lost you there!"

"Roman and I slipped them," Carina – half – lied. "What's going to happen now?"

"I don't know—"

"Who snitched?" Carina asked. "Someone must've snitched – because Umbridge wouldn't know about it if –"

"It doesn't matter now; we need to make sure that everyone's here." Hermione said.

They began to count the Gryffindors in the common room and to their relief it was almost complete. Almost.

"Where's Neville?"

"Where's Harry?"

Dolores Jane Umbridge (High Inquisitor) has replaced Albus Dumbledore as Head of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

All the D.A. members were given detention for breaking for conducting secret organization meetings and violated almost every decree that the Ministry had put up – well mostly the decree that said that no organizations are made if not reformed or approved by the High Inquisitor. They all were given the blood-red quill to use and do lines. And Cedric's position as Head Boy was removed by Umbridge as he was part of the D.A., Montague was then given the badge as he was one of the Inquisitorial Squad who captured the members, and Cedric himself. Of course, the fact that Marietta Edgecombe snitching had reached them, and it didn't make it any better for the girl since there were members that gave her the cold shoulder.
