"Oi oi!" Started Leorio, "you're not supposed to tell him, what kind of teamwork is that?" You couldn't help but scowl at him as you turned away.
"Huh? Why not?" Innocently asked Gon.
"Cause I don't wish to share my reasons to someone who isn't an examiner." The man said leaning towards Gon.
"I agree with Leorio. I do not wish to share my reasons with just anyone, they're personal." Kurapika says, making you curious.
"Its Mister Leorio to you!" Leorio said clearly annoyed.
The captain sighed as he took a smoke from his pipe. He exhaled and stared directly at the four of you. "It seems only these two will be making it to the exam site this year." He said pointing towards you and Gon.
"Huh?" Said you, Leorio and Kurapika in unison as Gon happily cheered.
"What do you mean?" Kurapika asked.
"I mean, you won't make it to the exam site if you dont answer my question." Said the captain sternly. "You see, tens of thousands of people register for the hunter exam every year, so the associatio . Hires people like me to lighten the batch. Those guys who couldn't last the storm were registered as drop outs. Even if the do make it to the exam site, the dorrs will be shut right in front of their faces. Therefore, I say you answer my question honestly if you with to pass the exam.
Both Leorio and Kurapika looked at each other, but Kurapika was first to answer.
" Not long ago, my entire clan was wiped out by a band of murderous theives. I wish to become a blacklist hunter and finally bring them to justice!" Kurapika said as eyes flashed red behind what seemed to be contacts, but only you could notice such a slight change in Kurapika's face.
"What band of thieves" the captain asked coolly, but with sympathy in his eyes.
"The Phantom Troupe." kurapika said as he clentched his fists. His words caused you to stumble backwards. Kurapika quickly caught you before you fell back and concern filled his eyes. "I'm fine..." You say blushing slightly while standing up once again.
"The Phantom Troupe are level A bounty, pursuing them would be almost certain death. You're way too young for that." The captain counselled.
"I don't fear death, I only fear that my rage will fade over time." Kurapika said with commendable determination, but his cold face and his words sent chills down your spine. 'You changed, Kurapika'. You thought as you stated at him.
"Why would you need to be a hunter for that?" Leorio asked.
"That's probably the stupidest question I've ever heard, Leorio. Hunters have access to facilities and information a normal person wouldn't." Kurapika said annoyed.
"It's Mister Leorio!" Leroio yelled. .
The captain shuck his head sadly. "And you?" Questioned the captain as he turned towards Leorio.
"Sadly my reasons aren't as honorable. I want to become a hunter for money! With money you can get a nice house, a sweet ride, the best liquor and women." Leorio nodded towards you as he said the last part. You couldn't help but scowl in discuss.
" Sadly, money can't buy class, Leorio." Kurapika said.
"That's three times now. Let's take this outside, I'll end that filthy Kurta Clan now." Leorio said before walking outside.
"TAKE THAT BACK LEORIO!" Kurapika yelled, as he followed Leorio outside.
"HEY I'M NOT DONE ASKING QUESTIONS! GET BACK HERE! GET BACK HERE!" Yelled the captain.
