~Meeting the Golden Sun~

I had recently lost my mother, but Miss. Tilly was just like her, you think to yourself. And even though I can never replace my mom, its nice to have a motherly figure there to guide me.

Kurapika's POV

"WOW" You said in amazement. "Pairo, there's so many people!" You said as you and Pairo ride through the town on your big bird. "There and a bunch of stands and people are selling all kinds of things!" You say happily narrating for your visually impaired friend. "There's fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, jewelry, clothes... PAIRO THEY SELL EVERYTHING!" You exclaimed causing people to turn and stare. But you didn't care, this was the first time you and Pairo had ever been outside of your clan's village, obviously you'd be excited.

Both you and Pairo got off your big bird and started to explore the town. The town had lovely cobblestone tiles, forming different designs, like flowers and stars. The air was filled with the smell of freshly baked bread, various fruits and fresh air!

"Kurapika... we should buy the groceries now." Pairo said while tugging at your robe.

"Sure, just give me a second, " You said, "as i take it all in."

You spent another 5mins roaming the city with Pairo holding your hand until you started buying the groceries.

You finished getting the groceries a lot quicker than you though and you had tons of free time. "Okay Pairo, I'm just gonna finish saddling up Mr. Big Bird over here, then we can explore some more okay?"

"Sure" Said Pairo and he smiled towards you.

As you finish saddling mr. Big Bird, you turn just in time to see Pairo fall to the ground."PAIRO!" You scream as you run to Pairo's side. "Are you alright? What happened?"

"I'm fine..." Said Pairo. "I think I was pushed." he looked up towards one of the men in front of him. The one with a wine stain on his shirt spoke.

"You accusing me of something you little brat?!" He sneered, "Cause from what I know is you're the one who spilled wine all over my shirt, and I'm gonna require some compensation. All your money should be enough."

You stood up, as a dark aura formed around you. "Did you push Pairo?" You asked in a spooky tone.

"Kurapika, it's alright. Remember the test you cant get mad." Pairo said as he fished out all of your savings from with robe. It was a small jar filled with jenies and he handed it to the man.

"Give that back to those poor children! A woman screamed, "You pushed the poor boy and made it seem like he bumped into you!"

"What was that hag?" he jeered as he tauntingly approaching the elderly woman. "I'm afraid I didn't hear you, care to repeat yourself?"

The elderly woman shook her head and cowered under his intense glare. The man walked back towards the two of you and stared at the jar. "This is pathetic! Don't tell me this is all you have! You can't even buy a decent beer with this much!" He teased as he threw the glass jar on to the ground causing it to break, and all the jenies to scatter. "WHY YOU!" You charged at the man only to be pulled back by Pairo who was busy collecting the coins. You decide to let it go and join Pairo in picking up the coins.

"Must be hard looking after a cripple." the man said referring to Pairo. You rose with a deadly aura surrounding you. Your bangs covered your face, and you prepared to charge when-

Y/N POV:

"Thanks Mrs. Robinson!" You say after paying the kind lady a few jenies for a bag filled with fruit. Grocery shopping was a breeze as usual until you noticed two young boys, about your age being harassed by a man. You looked at the boys and they seemed to be picking up coins from the ground where a glass jar had broke. One boy had beautiful blonde hair that reminded you of the warm sun's rays that woke you this morning. He's face showed an intelligence beyond his physical age. You looked over to the brunette. His face shared the same intelligence, however there was a calmness to him,the other boy didn't have. On closer observation, you realized he was struggling finding coins and telling the difference between glass shards and the jenies. You examined his eyes and came to the conclusion that he was most likely blind. You began to calmly walk over to them to help pick up the coins when you heard,

"Must be hard looking after a cripple." The man said, probably referring to the brunette. 'What did he say?!'. You think and you charg at him. You slide on the ground a plant a solid kick on his shin. You hear *crack* and you smirke. 'Serves you right,' you think.

Kurapika's POV:

Before you could even touch him Pairo grabbed you and pulling you down to focus on collecting the coins. At the same time a girl with h/l h/c shatter his leg with one solid kick to his shin. 'Ouch...'

She approached you and started helping you collect the coins. "Some people have no respect, I tell you. Just ignore people like him, they aren't worth your time." she said, "I'm Y/N by the way, nice to meet you!" she cheerfully said as she collected the last coin and put it in your extra coin bag. "I'm Kura- WATCH OUT!" You yell as you notice the man's friend swiftly approach the girl. She dodged too late and still got hit slightly over the head, sending her flying into a vendor's cart. "I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU GUYS!" you scream and you dashed towards them, fury raging. 'Sorry Pairo, looks like I'm failing the test.'

Y/N POV:

"I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU GUYS!" was the last thing you heard before you lost consciousness. The last thing you remember were 2 scarlet orbs flying towards your attacker.

~ Time Skip~

You woke up feeling a warmth surrounding you. After a few seconds you got your bearings. The blonde haired male from earlier was cradling you close to his chest as he took shaky breaths mixed with tears. You looked behind him to see the brunette pacing furiously, on the verge of crying aw well. He quickly noticed your movement and squealed, "YOU'RE ALIVE!" as he ran towards you.

"What happened?" You say, causing the shaky breaths of the blonde to abruptly stop. He sat you up so that you could sit on your own in a quick but gentle manner before saying, "Of course she's alive Pairo, she had a pulse. But I wasn't sure if she would wake up." The blonde said trying to mask his previous tears with a calm voice as he hid hid face behind his hair.

"You were knocked out," Said the brunette. "I'm Pairo, and the other boy other there is Kurapika. I wanted to thank you for standing up for us." he stretched out a hand to shake yours and to help you up, which you gladly excepted.

"Y/N L/N nice to meet you" You said introducing yourself and shaking both their hands. Pairo warmly smiled at you while Kurapika still couldn't look you in the eyes. You gaze up to the sky and notice the various stars. Judging by the sky, you were out for nearly 8hrs. "Do you guys have anywhere to stay tonight? If you don't you can stay with me! It's getting late, and I wouldn't want you two to be left alone here at night. That's when the real bad guys come out and attack tourists." you warned.

"That would be wonderful, right Kurapika?" Pairo cheered. Kurapika finally looked you in the eyes for a brief mile-second before blushing, looking away and bowing.

"Thank you for your hospitality." He said formaly.

"No need for formalities!" You laughed, "It's settled then, you're both staying with Miss. Tilly and I!"
